This is 📍 Maiduguri,BORNO STATE.
It's a local company producing charcoal using COCONUT SHELL, RICE HUSK, BANANA PEEL, SAWDUST and MAIZE COB.
As stated by the owner of the company in the video below, He said that he did his research and found out that cutting down trees mainly to produce charcoal may one day result in the following:
- Soil erosion
- Loss of biodiversity
- Climate change
- Water scarcity
- Landslides/floods
- Desertification
So he thought of a way out to produce charcoal by boycotting the consequences of deforestation which is why his company now produces qualitative charcoal using COCONUT SHELL, RICE HUSK, BANANA PEEL, SAWDUST and MAIZE COB.
He is now calling on other charcoal companies to come together and expand their research to find more ways of producing charcoal without cutting down trees ...

Let's take it to N1 billion The Arewa Equity Initiative.
This is not just looking to fund businesses from what I have just read from you; we’re looking at igniting an ecosystem. And for that we may have to take it to N1 billion from this appreciable N100 million. If we think about the math: a 20% equity stake in a business valued at N50 million is N10 million. If we stay at the N100 million mark, we’re out of play after 10 deals or even less for higher valuations and stakes. This is not even taking into account OPEX, logistics and other ancillary costs.
To provide the 'Shark Tank' effect that includes mentorship, structure, and real growth, we need the financial muscle to back a diverse portfolio across the North and N1 billion can give us enough room to play. Well done, Captain Jamyl for stepping forward with this.
