Under the Nigerian Matrimonial Causes Act, adultery must be strictly proven, not assumed.
As the wife’s attorney, her primary defence would be a clear denial: a selfie or mere presence with a man in a private setting does not amount to proof of sexual intercourse.
Nigerian courts require convincing evidence and this picture alone may be insufficient.
Secondly, the photograph itself can be challenged. The wife may argue it was taken under pressure, misrepresented, or lacks proper authentication under the Evidence Act.
Social media posts are not automatically admissible unless properly verified in court.
Thirdly, the husband’s conduct strengthens her defence. Publicly sharing the image with family and friends may constitute cruelty, emotional abuse and reputational harm. This could form the basis of a counterclaim, as such behaviour undermines the dignity of the marriage.
Extra point: the wife may raise issues of privacy and possible defamation if the allegation of adultery is unproven.
The court may also consider the husband’s failure to pursue reconciliation before escalating the matter publicly.
Ultimately, the burden of proof lies on the husband.
Without clear, credible evidence of adultery, the petition may fail, while his conduct could weigh against him in the proceedings.

🇳🇬⚖️ Isese adherents demand public apology, traditional atonement from pastor over Osun Grove incident
Adherents of Isese have issued a public petition demanding an unreserved apology and traditional atonement rites from a pastor following an incident at the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove. The group stated that they will no longer tolerate disrespect, desecration, or disregard for their sacred traditions and ancestral heritage.
The demanded atonement rites include 16 he-goats, 16 roosters, and three kegs of palm oil, which they described not as acts of hostility but as recognized cultural processes of restitution and spiritual cleansing after desecration.
"We are peaceful people, but we are not silent, and we are certainly not weak. We have coexisted with other religions in peace across generations on the land of our ancestors. That peace must be built on mutual respect," the group stated.
The adherents also called on the Nigeria Police Force and the Osun State Government to investigate the incident thoroughly, ensure accountability under the law, and protect all religious and cultural groups from provocation and disrespect. They warned that failure to address the matter appropriately could deepen tensions and disrupt long-standing peace among communities.
@HighChiefOkoro@Aalafin_Akande If Tunde supports Tinubu, he will lose a lot of the f00ls following him cos they’re too dull to think freely but Tinubu’s followers don’t cancel people, they engage with verifiable facts instead of attacking baselessly unlike the Obidiots. Na Obi scatter ADC.
Tunde Ednut is openly backing Peter Obi, yet he attacks others for supporting candidates of their choice.
If he truly believes in Obi’s record, his platform should be flooded with clear, verifiable achievements from his time as governor. Instead, it’s mostly pressure and gaslighting directed at those who disagree.
In politics, everyone has the right to choose who they support. Expecting people to think the same way you do is clear stupidity.

@olasebotifeg Me that I stopped going to Ile-Kewu because of money. Our Alfa took us out for child naming, and we made a lot of money. On our way back to Ile-Kewu, Alfa asked us what we want between “money and Alubarika”. Others said Alubarika, I asked Alfa for money.
“i went to Alh. Wasiu Ayinde to tell him i gave birth and he said he will be in Idi Arere, Ibadan because he has a show there and i’m leaving Lagos on that day with my boss, i told my boss Wasiu Ayinde said i should branch he has something for me.

@ennyola0015@teresematt Now u’ve gone to chatGPT to copy this cos if u had this kind of brain, u would not send the first post. The president does not draft framework of anything. He sets up committee n allows them to function accordingly but everything stops at his table and National Assembly’s table.
None exists.
Ideally, the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Interior Ministry or both should draft a framework.
The police can then present their input, while civil society and other stakeholders contribute theirs.
A committee set up by the President would harmonize it, after which the Minister of Police Affairs presents it to the Senate.
While the Senate is working on it, they should also kick-start constitutional amendments to accommodate state police, rather than waiting for a working framework from the President.
When I said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had no clear operational framework for state police, people argued.
Now he’s asking the police to draft one😆 and tiday Olatunji Rilwan Disu has submitted it to the Senate.✍️
That says everything.😭
We’re not serious.
And it’s hard to believe the President is genuinely committed to state police.
@Sambest0706447@ennyola0015 It’s very hard to engage with these set of people. How do you start explaining these things to them without getting pissed ?
