@babokovsky @REMARKSIST No, they had dozens of varieties from most fruits. They had different varieties of apples for eating fresh, for drying, for making vinegar, for fermenting, etc, etc. Unfortunately most of these are lost, only a few of them survived here and there.

@REMARKSIST LOL, here in Hungary they had an amazing variety of fruits, fresh fish, mushrooms, herbs, veggies, they raised chicken, pigs, pigeons, etc. and pretty sure that some of them hunted/poached too even if it was forbidden.
