The critical point for me on today’s whisky news is it shows what’s possible when Scotland represents itself internationally. The people and parties who are quick to berate Scotland standing on its own two feet - even under devolution - should take note.

President Trump called FM @JohnSwinney this afternoon about the deal to lift whisky tariffs. FM thanked him in a nine minute call.
