@_LapsisBeeftech @DavidBakhtiari A lot of these things could be haggled out in a grand horse trade. Would I agree to a non-burdensome voter id law in exchange for a national ban on gerrymandering, terms also to be haggled? Absolutely. Common sense trade for everybody who is not a party hack.

@DavidBakhtiari @bachlaw Part of the problem is that it costs money to get a license, or in the case of this bill a passport, which could be considered poll tax and is prohibited by the constitution.

That said, Super 2 cutoff this year was 2.140 days of service, and it has been creeping up since the prospect promotion incentives have been in place. Maybe Gasser would've been under regardless, but he is clearly borderline where a few weeks down gives breathing room.

I know sometimes bringing up service time manipulation can be controversial, but Gasser is about 3 weeks in the minors away from losing Super 2 status (and arbitration next year).
With the team's pitching depth, it makes sense to gain those 3 weeks.

@DavidBakhtiari Hi Dave! In theory it is fine. However, voter ID laws are often intended to suppress certain groups by inserting crazy penalties or requiring certain ID forms that are difficult / time-consuming to get. A simple “show us your driver’s license / local photo ID” would be ok.

I do think CB girth is something that is going to be routinely tested going forward as CFB is producing fewer and fewer 195+ lb corners and if you're running the quarters-tree stuff, your corners have to be able to haul ass.

Since ‘05 Green Bay hasn’t drafted a CB whose height was more than 21 percentage points higher than their weight using the RAS system, and on avg they’ve been almost exactly aligned in height/weight percentile. 4 popular players who violate this desire for well proportioned CBs
