MLS Commissioner Don Garber has opened the door to potentially leaving before his contract expires in 2027, with all options on the table. The league is already in succession planning as it looks to position its next leader for MLS’s next phase of growth. Via @TheAthletic | ow.ly/pOVh50YwVVM

Jesse Marsch revealed that he ‘believed succeeding Gregg Berhalter as USMNT coach was a guarantee’ - and shortly after, U.S. Soccer officials changed their mind. 😯🎙️ "I got a call from US Soccer when I was literally being fingerprinted [for a visa] at Leicester. I was ready to take that job, so it changed the trajectory of my life. I think things happen for a reason, and I'm happy with where I am right now.” "All I'd say is that it was made very clear to me by US Soccer that I was going to be the [USMNT] coach, and then it was made very clear to me that I was not. At the time, I was devastated and angry, but now I am thankful and really happy to be where I'm at." "That said, I like Mauricio [Pochettino] and I want the USMNT to do well. I want the sport in the country to be successful and to continue to grow. I want the players that I've coached or know and the team to be successful, but my only thing is, when they play us, I want them to lose!"

So Jesse Marsch rejected Leicester back in 2023 to take over the USMNT 🇺🇸, then the fed decided to bring back Gregg Berhalter. Regardless of what your thoughts are on Jesse Marsch there was absolutely no reasonable reason to bring Berhalter back over Marsch.

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you THE all touches comp from Jesus Ferreira’s cameo in Qatar! Truly a moment worthy of the “I’m not him” title! 🇺🇸

[@SPORTBILD]

not making room for Jack McGlynn in a 26 man squad is a mistake

Tyler Adams said USMNT players weren’t going to do the photoshoot unless they were given a voice in designing the 2026 World Cup kits. Nike and the U.S. Soccer agreed. “The team wasn't too fond of the [kits] we were going to be wearing [in Qatar], just because we didn't feel it represented us necessarily and the country as we'd like,” he said. “When you have an opportunity to represent your country at a World Cup, you just want to love the kit.” “For me, it was simple: I want something that's timeless.” “I want to have that kit you look back at in 30 years and you're like, ‘That's still the best one.’ It's pretty straightforward: You have to have stars and stripes of some sort. They represent us perfectly.” “You need to have kits that you just love putting on. You just get that feeling like, look good, play good. And it sounds corny, but I believe in that.” “I feel like we had more say than Nike had in it, to be honest with you.” [via Yahoo Sports]

Noahkai Banks will not join up with the USMNT for the March international window. It remains undecided as to whether he will represent Germany or the United States at the international level. [🌕: @JeffreyCarlisle]
