Apologizing for diet culture means nothing when it's done as a strategy to push drugs, further pathologize body size, and attack bodily autonomy.

Dissolve my riding with zero public notice, force employees back to work with no safety and no respect for bargaining agreements, and already be falling behind on H1N1 control. @JustinTrudeau, I want to know why I should vote for you or a @liberal_party MP again.

@Channel4 Surely you see how this is more than a difference of opinion or a nasty jokes made in a Netflix special? Riley has made degrading statements and aligned herself with anti-human rights ideology before. But this accusation and "apology" show a dangerous escalation.
Shout4Change@Shout4Change

Hi @Channel4 @8Outof10Cats Rachel Riley’s racism is unacceptable to me, a viewer. She then failed to apologise, instead claiming it is a “misunderstanding” on the part of the public. Please show that Channel 4 takes a zero tolerance approach to such racism and #SackRachelRiley.

@scott222a @bryan_johnson With all we know about this awful disease, it seems like brain damage is the only reason we aren't funnelling more resources at prevention.

My covid symptoms were very mild and lasted only 3 days. Lung therapies below.

Anyone in the GTA/Souther Ontario area know of any C*vid-safer optometrists who are taking patients? #covidconscioustoronto @KashPrime - does @CanCovSoc have any listings of health providers who have maintained safety in their practices?

@ChristosArgyrop @WashTimes So they want him too sick/dead to run, or they want to brag about it in tonight's speech and will return it via internal memo within 48 hours. Then again, idk how good the drugs they don't let us normies have are.

@flindall_steve Keep those without family doctors or accessible walk-ins/urgent care out of the ER, in the case of hospital virtual/telemedicine. If patient-facing care cared more about reducing Covid risk, I'd be less inclined to back it so vehemently.

@flindall_steve I've yet to encounter a telemedicine practice that wasn't extremely careful about the limits of not being able to see someone and scheduling follow-ups where needed, which I think is great. It also allows those with more complex needs to get care more readily and has helped...

I know a lot of people think that telephone medical appointments are the greatest thing since sliced bread but I've seen too many misdiagnoses that were very easy if someone had just laid eyes and/or hands on the patient to be a fan myself.

@1goodtern I had always hoped visuals from hospitals and of what Covid symptoms/LC can actually look like in mainstream media would have done it. Both were limited and highly sanitized. And I'm still shocked HCWs who left the system told us but didn't show us more.

What's the thing that you thought would have made people sit up and take notice of the dangers of Covid infection?

@o_bel_ I'm sure the sensitive HCPs who refuse to give up their comfort for reality won't like it, but I feel like something about true risk needs to be included. Like 'Real risk and the reframing of "Covid anxiety."' 'Reframing "Covid anxiety" and the pathologizing of real risk'

Olivia- covid resources in bio!
I want to make a handout to counter HCPs who are pushing “Covid anxiety” and pathologize folks for precautions. What should it be called?

A reminder to #canadareads2024 that "focus" is an ableist comment, even if it's meant well. Nevermind that anecdotal discussion is welcome when in the "correct" high-brow context and frowned upon when it isn't.

@EdtheSock Elder millenial timeline: Wheel of Fortune says over 80, NCIS says over 60, Survivor is over 50, anything by Shonda Rhimes on regular TV says over 40. Unsure what current shows my gen watches that gives away our age, but I suspect one thing is Laguna Beach-style reality TV.

Gen Xers like me have pop culture references like "Murder, She Wrote" and "Matlock" to denote a show watched mostly by old people. Hey Millennials & Gen Z - what are your Matlocks?

Loblaws creating 7,500 mostly non-union, low-paying jobs with poor working conditions is not the win for the country they want us to think it is. When you're the country's biggest private employer and your own employees can't buy your damn food, expansion is a threat, not a win.

@MaritStiles Looking at east-end Toronto locations, he's targeting centres in lower-income, very busy locations and moving them to Staples' that are harder to access by both car and transit, and closer to wealthier areas (and further out from residential neighbourhoods).

As the Conservatives give millions to Staples & Walmart in sole-sourced ServiceOntario contracts... In the Premier's own words, sole-sourced contracts are all about the government “filling their buddies’ pockets full of money.” He's saying the quiet part out loud. #ONpoli

@ErinBurnett With all due respect, please don't say things like "wanted to be there regardless of what he looked like" about a 99-year-old under massive medical strain who just lost his wife. He isn't thinking about his physical appearance right now - CNN shouldn't be, either.

Colbert has someone who had a stroke on the show less than a week ago and now has c19 with a high enough viral load that a first test shows + right away. People shouldn't have to live like this when there's so much that can be done to clean the air and minimize risk.

Heard a Gvt of Alberta ad on Toronto radio for the first time. An attack ad against the federal gvt. Why is @stingray airing this in the Ontario market? Turned off @boom973 for the day. Don't need to ruin a day with family with manipulative disinformation from another province.

@dwbronner I wish you'd consider the voices of seniors in your story about chain restaurants and Covid. Instead, it's a CEO saying older folks were "more spooked." An offensive statement (in more ways than one) minimizing the tremendous harm Covid is still doing to older folks.

@Songstress28 @AirCanada Oh, and recently banned personal air purifiers from being used on their planes. Few companies have acted with such cruelty or worked so hard to fleece their country by creating a crisis.
