cologne stickers aren’t dead. the old entry might be. stage 1 teams: ~$60k. budapest contender orgs: ~$600k. same class, ~10x less to teams. most people still wait for: sale → $0.25 → limited → pray for growth. that needs a cheap window. this system might not give one. 2k asks with no fills already show demand has a ceiling. my guess in this situation: org complaints aren’t only noise. they may be mid-payout under the new rules — and a hint the old discount lane is weaker. if there’s no real sale later, “ill buy the dip” is late. holo is already expensive for a sticker. if you like the stained glass look, metal is the cheaper way to sit in it. So mb i gonna try to buy some.

@pricempire half a billion in a week wasn’t a vibes crash. valve changed the rules mid-game and the book repriced overnight. every “safe inventory” update has one of these in the background.

One year ago today, Valve introduced the trade reversal update. That week, the CS2 skin market cap fell by over $500,000,000.

@Uroscs2 20 mid-tier if you can actually pick, its gonna be some from limited collections like inferno2018/cache. 1 expensive is concentration risk. 100 cases is just not clear what valve gonna do with this. edge lives in selection + exit.

@SteamInvHelper FN $1500 / BS $100 on the same gun is the whole lesson. they cut FN odds, so money piled into one wear while lower wears look almost identical. you’re paying for the lottery ticket, not the paint job.

Record-low ROI as the first wave of new CS2 skins hits the market? Arabesque and Spy Tech just came off trade ban, and prices are so low even the farmers themselves are surprised. Fresh market data: AK-47 | Consequence of the Jinn in FT going for $150-200, MW version of the same skin sitting at $350, and AWP | Sovereign Flame in FN trading at $1,500 while the Battle-Scarred version of the exact same skin goes for $100. Multiple reasons stacking on top of each other here. First, with rotation MIA for so long, farmers piled up a massive stockpile of Armory Stars and supply spiked hard. Second, the FN odds got heavily gutted right at collection launch, so nearly all the value is concentrated in that one condition, while MW and below trade almost at consumer-grade prices despite looking visually identical to FN. That's exactly why you're seeing these gaps, MW and FN of the same skin can differ 3-5x with almost no visible wear difference🤡 As for the collections themselves, chatter in trading circles is pretty unified, most people just aren't feeling the skins visually, and that's directly hitting demand. Combine that with the ROI situation and the whole thing has honestly killed a chunk of the hype. That said, some traders are already picking up specific positions they consider undervalued, betting on a price correction upward once the market actually finds where these things should sit 📈 There's a flip side worth mentioning too. The fact that farming stars turned into such a rough ROI at launch might cool off the farming scene overall, which long-term is actually healthy for the Armory as a system. Naturally a lot of Star holders are choosing to sit on their stock right now, waiting to see the broader reaction once things hit the wider market, so both Arabesque and Spy Tech could still see a dump at some point down the line 👀 How do you feel about this launch for the new collections?

@TechsavvyCS clean read. ugly open kills farmer flow. first wave dumps. you buy the hangover, not the hype candle. still a flip clock though. trade-lock green isn’t cash yet.

Tech-savvy 💸 BUYING SKINS 24/7
New Armory Skins looked WAY too cheap... so I bought them. 📈 Here's how I made 50% profit in 4 days: When the new Armory collections became tradable, something felt off. You could buy ANY of the new Coverts for around $100, and I thought they were significantly underpriced. Here's why: • Collection opening ROI was only ~60%. Profit farmers had little incentive to keep opening them, slowing the rate new skins entered the market. • Months without a rotation let everyone stockpile Stars. The first week brought a massive wave of supply as people dumped their pulls. Once that wave dried up, I expected prices to climb. So 4 days ago I bought: • 3× AK-47 | AUTOEXEC (MW, FT, BS) • 1× AWP | Sovereign Flame (FT) • 2× AK-47 | Consequence of the Jinn (FT, BS) • 1× Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol (FT) • 1× M4A4 | Falak (FT) Total cost: $1,060 Current value: ~$1,600 They're still trade locked, so the profit isn't realized yet, but my prediction played out almost exactly as expected. I'm up 50% in just 4 days, wishing I had bought more... One of my favorite things about the CS2 market is that, unlike the stock market, it is easy to predict. If you understand how updates affect supply and demand, there can be some really good opportunities. 📊💰 These are still pixels though, never forget that. How much are you up on anything you bought lately?

@ThourCS2 content and anti-cheat hurt the game. sticker payout hurts the market. when orgs stop getting paid off paper, the seasonal sticker story loses the money that used to push it.

@ER6K_ seeing this more and more. people get cooked by valve / updates, dump the whole book, and ride into the sunset. whether that was smart probably won’t be obvious now. we’ll know in a couple years — when either the pain was early, or they just sold the bottom of a cycle.

@CSGORoll before player split, 10x less already ends the org thesis. major paper used to underwrite rosters and leave a liquid aftermarket. now it underwrites almost nothing and sits on asks that don’t fill.

Cologne major stickers have been a complete disaster for the professional CS2 scene. Stage 1 teams at the major have reported making only $60,000 in sticker revenue vs contender teams at the Budapest Major making $600,000 (before player share)

honest question first — you actually like how this skin looks, or is it pure trade-up / supply math? long-term the bet can be real. two problems though: 1) at these prices (1$) exit is already ugly on stuff people only buy for craft. collections like that don’t clear size clean. 2) this one doesn’t have a full float cap. so for craft, float purity will matter a lot — not every $0.10 MW is the same input. as a play-invest it’s not bad tho. looks clean, and it might get real demand even outside the contract.

Today I picked up 550 Galil AR | Green Apple (Minimal Wear) skins at $0.10 each. Whenever I can catch them around this price, I keep buying consistently. My target is $1 per skin. Let’s see if I can actually reach that goal. Will this investment finally make me happy, or am I just rowing against the current for nothing? Not financial advice. I’m posting this so I can look back in the future and evaluate my investment decisions and performance over time. #CS2 #CS2Skins #SkinInvesting #CounterStrike

@CS2skin_com three broken paychecks at once. orgs don’t fund off stickers, cases price above the open book, openers still eat ugly ROI. recovery needs a buyer paid to hold risk. right now that seat is empty.

@TDM_Jesus fast ROI bounce after a dump is mean reversion. if opens go fully green again, farmers come back and the faucet restarts. so “could go positive” cuts both ways: better for holders now, worse the moment printing looks smart again.

As was widely expected, the ROI's of the new Armory collections are skyrocketing. Arabesque is up about 40% and Spy Tech is up about 50%. Given how pessimistic the community is right now I could easily see these going positive.

@kRYSTAL_cs2 correct split. want the skin → buy the skin. want the pass “EV” → you’re paying for a lottery after a long star stockpile already flooded the market. 2000 credits for an €80 MW is the product working as designed: pass revenue first, your average return second.

Don't buy armory passes. If you want the skins, buy them directly. I have spent 2000+ armory credits and the best I have gotten is an 80€ MW M4 Falak....🫠🫠 Do yourself a favor and don't do it... youtu.be/rpjZjI1UO0E watch it for yourself. DONT do it. :)

@SigaTbh $878M is a Valve win. not automatically an inventory win. they get paid when people buy the pass and burn stars. you get paid only if someone later wants your skin. same machine. different side.

this is why FN looks “rich” and everything under it looks abandoned. full float + tiny FN odds pushes almost all value into one wear tier. It is still boosted shit. so MW/FT often look nearly the same in-game and still trade like leftovers. the asset isn’t “the skin.” it’s the wear lottery inside the skin.

The new skins are FULL FLOAT. This means: To unbox the red you want (1 in 1562, as any covert is 1 in 781) means the exact red you want, then it being a 3% chance to get it in FN. It's a 1 in 52,066.67 or (0.00192%) chance to get a FN Specific Armory NEW RED.
