The purge on YouTube continues. The platform bans Rick Sanchez, a former MSNBC and CNN host and now host at RT. A great journalist by any standards has been deleted. @TeamYouTube are you serious about that? If Rick has a chance at coming back, it‘s only through mass pressure on YT. If you tweet about this, do so with „@TeamYouTube“ in your tweet, so that they might see the uptick in negative mentions.

There is a lot of the sound bite stuff made by Representatives and Senators and from both sides of the political aisle, but I've noticed a distinct increase in momentum regarding 230 particularly over recent years and if Big Tech keep going about doing some of the things they do, well as I've probably said many times now, time will tell!

Yeah, "basic" being the operative word. Going back to the question of origin on that particular point, I had asked "how exactly can others and myself have any way of trying to avoid the same fate", which was in relation to Sanchez getting cancelled. Obviously you don't give a sh*t and that's fine, some do however give a sh*t and whilst YouTube cancelling me wouldn't bother me one bit, those that get monetized could be harmed a little or maybe a lot, a fate they may have been able to totally avoid if knowing more about Sanchez's case, but as it stands, their channels could be similarly cancelled.

Yes, I often read about 230's relationship with the 1st Amendment and I get that part. I also however read some of the many articles referring to it being time to amend it and that it can be amended! One such article by West Virginia College of Law from only last September is (share.google/O3ScXFHHTVgmaR…), which amongst other things, covers constitutional implications, censorship numerous times, algorithms and of course it has a conclusion. Such an article doesn't and can't change any laws, but evidently there are many similar views that it can be changed......time will tell.🤔

I'm sure all the lawmakers seeking to change 230 are fully aware of things like the Miami Herald case. But maybe not and therefore you'd be better sending it to Durbin, Graham and Patronis (being they are the current challengers to it) and try to convince them they are just wasting their time and that 230 is sacrosanct!

I understand what you say but no I'm not wanting Government to force them to act differently, if they want to keep acting the same way then that's up to them, but they shouldn't look for the protections at the same time. We are going to go around in circles on that forever I reckon, hence I said it was a bit of a conundrum IMO.

BOTH Section 230 and 1st Amendment enables social media platforms to moderate or remove user content, but of course and probably conveniently we don't know the answer to which one. If it's the latter, myself and others believe there should be consistency and clarity, some will disagree and that's fine. Funny how myself and others are fine with those that disagree, but not apparently the other way around, because 230 is apparently sacrosanct.

Democrats are not socialists generally. They are the big tent party, but even then socialist in how we are talking.

They obviously aren't, but don't you think for a minute it would be helpful to other users. If you and your best buddies went out for a beer one night and every time you all went to a bar, only YOU were denied access each time, despite being as sober as your buddies, dressed similarly etc. to your buddies and with no apparent difference as far as all of you were concerned, but you'd be absolutely fine with that, you wouldn't be at all curious to know why you were denied access so that it would hopefully never happen again in future and you'd just go home for the night whilst your buddies enjoyed a great night out.
