Will Golden Nugget Buy Caesars Entertainment – A friend of mine bet me dinner on this one. I say “no” and he says “yes.” My rationality is based on several challenges. First, Caesars does not own the land or the buildings for many of the properties. That means the landlord (VICI) would most likely have to make rent accommodations, and that won’t be good for their stock price. Second, with interest rates spiking, access to financing will be difficult. Third, the amount of capital required to update Caesars properties is staggering. @McFranchisee Buc-ee’s is all about the bathroom. The rest, convenience and like it or not, marketing towards women. Half the store is random things you’d find at a craft market. Add food, and as a family you’re there 30 minutes and leave $100 lighter.

While I don’t get the allure: clean ‘80s-looking bathrooms with cheap drinks and overpriced everything else, they are a major competitor in the food space. @McFranchisee This is going to keep growing as Casey’s, WaWa, and others like Sheetz keep venturing into the food space. Smaller communities and towns with fast food will see increased competition from gas station operators.

@OutofSpecDetail I'll do 10% to 50 - 60% in under 20 and be happy. Grab a bite and a restroom break and you've killed 10 minutes already on road trips. Then there is the Buc-ee's factor. 10 to 80 in 30 minutes is fine for that.
