Fantastic work by our volunteers on the A538 cycling/walking path (part of the Airport Orbital Route) this morning to get it cleared and back to its original width. The work continues there on Wednesday 18th (10am), so please do come and join us!

Hey @WalkRideGM please help our campaign to get the shared use path by A538, north west of the airport tunnels properly maintained by MCC (and eventually properly) widened. It's an NCN route). We have written to the Bee Network about it. @BeeNetwork @Sustrans

Brilliant to see the new 'gap' on the Airport Orbital route (for cyclists, walkers, wheelchair users etc) formally opened today, with colleagues from CycleWilmslow, @manairport , Simply Cycling, Breeze cycling group etc there. Thanks to our new member, Paddy for pushing for this.

We are appealing for more cyclists living in and near the 'Greater Wilmslow' area to join us, as this will give us greater strength when lobbying for better provision for cycle users. We just ask for a £10 donation as you join. See here:

@SuttonsBOGI @RuthMayorcas @SuttonCouncil @activetraveleng @willnorman I had this explained years ago to me by another activist. If you give officers that experience, they will take their experience as everyone's capabilities, and potentially stop listening to the community. EA legal actions are the way to proceed.

@RuthMayorcas @badspyro @SuttonCouncil @activetraveleng All councillors and council officers to spend one day in a wheelchair getting around #Sutton to appreciate the #barriers they refuse to remove
and comply with the #2010EqualityAct
Attitudes must change first before changing the signage!

If St Helier Hospital is in such a poor state, why has @SuttonCouncil failed to improve #RoadSafety across the borough for vulnerable road users such as #Cyclists and #Pedestrians without being forced to do it?
Fewer A&E admissions can only help right?

@iamthedans I'm hoping that by cycling off the ferry and then up past Amsterdam I should hit a real range of different infrastructure and experiences. Sadly no older towns like in the North of the Netherlands though.

@badspyro Yes, I really want to do Houten! Even just Leidsche Rijn is somewhere I want to explore.

It's simple - you can't support Pride AND finance attacks on LGBTQ+ people
So we're telling companies like Adobe, SoundCloud, Trainline and others who claim to support Pride, to pull their ads from GB news
Tell them to pick a side - hate or Pride 👇✏️

A reminder that Cinema on the Carrs is sadly cancelled:
Wilmslow Town Council@WilmslowTC
1/3 📢 We have, regrettably, made the decision to cancel Cinema on the Carrs, which was due to take place this Saturday, 7th June 2025. Wilmslow Town Mayor, Cllr Sally Harrison, said “We are very sorry to say that we have decided to cancel Cinema on the Carrs...

@rail_guns I'm tempted to 'redeploy' one as a 'Driver Dismount' sign outside a Highways department carpark one of these days 🤣

Also a gigantic bugbear of mine
Temporary signs (and associate bits) do have a very bad habit of sticking around forever
Failed for 6 months now to get some "towpath flooded" signs picked up :(
Brum X@x_brum
Another issue me and the @Bradford_St_Bhm have are abandoned road signs across Digbeth. They are a magnet for litter and flytipping. These particular road signs have been left here since Autumn 2024 with no obvious sign of collection. Email sent to the relevant department

@edwinhayward @justdave89now To be honest, a lot of that is entirely public already. Contracts tend not to be due to comercial aspects, but all that's going to happen is they are going to drown in useless data and reams of reports. They need to target areas otherwise it's just too big.
English

@justdave89now It's more like a dodgy attempt at social engineering: send it to a bunch of people who have data access, in the hope that at least one gets scared by it, someone who has too little innate legal savvy to know that under no circumstances should they be handing that data over.
English

@ReformDurham @justdave89now I get what you're aiming at, but as an indy councillor elected 2yrs ago, you're about to drown in a sea of useless reports. Target somewhere, such as your biggest spend area, don't try to eat the beast whole.
English
