The River City Slam was a 4-0 success this weekend after this team battled back from point deficits in 3 out of 4 games. These girls kept their heads and straight battled mentally, emotionally, and physically all weekend. The result? Dubs all around including some well deserved hardware! Proud Coach moments all weekend. Especially in the Championship game when I literally told them to “Grow up and figure it out.” 😏 As you can imagine, I got 7 high school girl death glances, a handful of side eyes, and a huddle breakdown that reeked of “just watch, old man”. And you know what? My girls figured it out. 💪🏻 This team is special and I am eternally grateful. 🙏🏻 @Thehouse_BBall Team Stats: 49 steals (we hardly pressed, BTW) 127 rebounds 37 assists 24 blocks 3 come from behind wins 1 River City Slam Championship With this being an absolutely team focused championship, shoutouts are a little different this week. To my Captains: @Lexi_Baker8 & @peytonhein34, you two carried this team all weekend. You both played the most minutes and took the biggest beating. Thank you for showing up and leading your girls to victory. 🫡 To my guards: @BayleeA02 , Addison, @MagsC_26 & @addy_harris20. The maturity, composure, and will to win were on display all weekend. Baylee, you were queen of the court in game 2. Addison, your defense, intensity, and 3 point shooting kept us alive all day Saturday!
