Depending on the writers and artists it could definitely be gratuitous and stupid but especially in more modern times these characters were owning there sexuality in positive ways LONG before characters like Bayonetta

Why is the biggest outrage always reserved for the characters whose sexualization is a big part of their character in the comics. I don’t like the way characters like Peni or Squirrel girl are sexualized but are we really out here complaining about EMMA FROST and BLACK CAT
