Running a company:
2020: can you survive a pandemic?
2021: still here? we’re going to give all of your competitors $100m series A rounds.
2022: wow, you made it? okay, all engineers cost $600,000/year now.
2023: nice job! okay, SVB failed and we’re going to take away your bank account.
2024: a survivor I see. but can you pivot from ai to crypto to defense tech back to ai-enabled defense tech in a 12 month period to stay relevant?
2025: unfortunately all of your competitors have raised $2b series B rounds. oh and only 500 engineers are relevant and they cost $100m/yr each.
2026: well, well, well. you’re still in business? let’s deploy the thunderclap of godlike LLMs from the heavens so all of your customers can rebuild your app in 2 hours. can you survive?

More than 350 million vertebrate animals are killed by human driven vehicles every year. In general, autonomous vehicles are much better than humans at dodging animals.
A compilation I made of @Tesla’s FSD stopping for animals, and often saving their lives:

A self-driving car in Austin killed a mother duck, sparking neighborhood outrage techcrunch.com/2026/04/08/a-s…
English

@baldatitiris @SawyerMerritt @Tesla Have you ever lived the rural life?
The older I get the harder it is driving past dead wildlife.
There's never a week without 1 to 3 wildlife bodies.
English

@baldatitiris @SawyerMerritt @Tesla Isn’t that about 1 animal strike every 10 years for each person? Not unreasonable at all. I’ve been driving for 40 years and have struck 4 animals? Sounds about right, certainly the right order of magnitude (not 0.4 in 40 years, not 40 strikes in 40 years).
English

@baldatitiris @SawyerMerritt @Tesla Is 10% of people killing a bird, squirell, another small animal, etc really hard to believe? For me, its not.
English

@SawyerMerritt @Tesla Here is the reference from that quote:
87. Lalo, J. 1987. The problem of road kill. American Forests 93(9/10): 50–52, 72.
That's totally nonsense. 10% of all drivers in the world kill a vertebrate per year on average? This is wrong.

I've been marketing for a few months and still no sales.
I’m deciding whether to move on to the next one or keep going.
If this were you, what would you do?

MSTR doesn't have a high EBITDA to be able to pay high fees (11.5%). They are betting on the BTC price going higher or on new people lending them money so they can pay the others. They created some confusing (non-conventional) financial instruments to justify their operations.

@baldatitiris @CryptoHe4dlines @saylor @Strategy How's it a pyramid scheme?

@CryptoHe4dlines @saylor @Strategy This shit is the new pyramid scheme. Stay away from it. Btw, I love btc.

11.50% yield sounds tempting on paper, but let's be real - STRC is perpetual preferred stock with a dividend rate that the board can tweak (or suspend) at any time, and it's ultimately backed by a company whose main asset is volatile Bitcoin. No guarantees on the payout, no maturity date, and Strategy has negative operating cash flow, so they're essentially paying high yields by raising more capital. It's clever engineering from Saylor, but calling it a 'stable high-yield savings account' feels like a stretch when there's real credit and crypto downside risk if things turn south.

@_freedom_trader @herbertong NVidia starter kit for those companies has 100K hours of training data (simulation). Thats literally 140 cars collecting data for only 1 month. Those companies need to develop on their own. They are far far away
English

@herbertong Nice showman announcement and video.
But how close are they really to achieving unsupervised robotaxis at scale?
My prediction is that a fagmented approach like this (Nvdia+Car Maker+Uber) will have a very hard time reaching the safety standards it needs.
