I believe this was spontenouse 'uprising'😁. Next time, learn from Man United fans, and focus more on community impact celebrations.

#UnpopularOpinion #730. Uganda was mentioned in many media outlets including Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as having showed much love & support for @Arsenal through street parades, etc. How I wish instead we planted trees, cleaned hospitals, got spades & shovels & emptied choked trenches in towns, pulled together some money for children suffering from heart disease, sickle cell or malaria, re-painted zebra crossings, taken goodies to children homes, hosted street children to lunch & delivered clothes to them, penned a document to government in support of the purge against corruption etc. Drinking malwa, downing liters of liquor, cleaning platters of pork & painting cows in Arsenal colors may be good but not enough. We needed to show our opponents our class & enlist young supporters into our club.

Dear Samson I have observed several concerns and have addressed them in previous posts . Allow me to highlight some of my views: The WHO explicitly advises against using the following elements in a disease's name to avoid backlash, prejudice, and economic harm including geographic locations, cultural references etc. Naming this virus after a district in Uganda violates this principle. Uganda is an internationally recognized center of excellence in managing epidemiological diseases thanks to robust political leadership by H E President @KagutaMuseveni that runs all the way down to local level with robust monitoring and preventive ecosystems that have been used to address Ebola always coming from DRC. This experience also served as a basis for the effectiveness of our response to COVID-19. The current narrative is making it sound as if the virus originated here and as if we have local transmission cases. None of which is true. Normally Uganda’s listing as an affected country depends on local transmissions and as of this moment we have registered ZERO LOCAL TRANSMISSIONS. This means Uganda’s partners need to recognize the HEIGHTENED PREVENTIVE MEASURES taken and not penalize the country, our people and our livelihoods for our readiness. Last but not least, how we communicate about prevention matters. We must be clear and specific without using images and fonts and colors that cause alarm. I recognize that the system needs to mobilize resources but this should not be done at the expense of one of the world’s best epidemiological monitoring and control systems. Action by @UgandaMediaCent and @TourismBoardUg are accurate, professional and should be emulated by all stakeholders. @SamsonMKasumba

Today at Nakasero, I met Mr. Aliko Dangote and we discussed the proposed East African regional refinery. I informed him that from the very beginning, we have always opposed the export of raw materials without value addition. That is why Uganda delayed oil production because we insisted on first having a refinery. Without refining our oil, it would not make economic or strategic sense to simply export crude oil while others benefit from the finished products. I, therefore, welcomed the idea of a bigger regional refinery because our objective is African integration and shared prosperity. We cannot continue operating as fragmented and weak markets. If East Africa works together, such projects become more viable and beneficial to our people. Uganda is ready to support the regional refinery initiative while also continuing with the development of our own refinery in Hoima.

@SamsonMKasumba @AmamaMbabazi Okay. Two years ago, the focus of your lavish praise over a fashion sense was Speaker Among. Now that she appears to have fallen from grace, can we take it that you're dumping her from your praise list and pivoting to another power dresser, or am I reading too much into it?

They say when two elephants fight, the grass suffers. But what happens when two fools fight? We may have some indications in the Kabanda -Nameere spats - they speak over their head and while at it, tell us a lot about their piper masters and mistresses. Now, you do not interrupt such a fight. In fact, you encourage them to go on.

Friends, let's guide ourselves; the person of the Speaker also has a right to enjoy the fruits of her hard work and legitimate business ventures, just like any other citizen. Why should anyone be jealous of that? In the absence of any legitimate audit query against her office or herself, the criticism is then clearly misplaced. More often than not, the loudest critics (and that of their sympathizers) are not driven by principle but by envy and by the mindset that only they deserve everything good. I know of those who've been manufacturing noise in the past few days because they also want to be in the same office, tayo! Speaker Among is also free to live her life in ways that make her happy. After all, there is nothing unlawful about a person enjoying and spending the lawful proceeds of her own labor.

I dont think the country need billions to conduct the LC elections. Just appoint a senior elder in the village to oversee the elections, the elected chairman with the help of Rwot kweri will sit and appoint the other 10 committee members. Done! The names will then be forwarded to the subcounty for approval. A poor country like UG shouldnot stress over somethings ojoneeee.
