"Je vais abuser de votre temps." Il fait toute la liste des arguments fallacieux russes: Minsk, Odessa, bombardements sur les populations, "régime" néo nazi, lois anti russes inexistantes, etc. etc. Il n'est jamais interrompu. Aucun de ces points ne sera corrigé, précisé, nuancé. Il est relancé sur les attaques contre les infrastructures civiles en Ukraine. Il répond qu'il ne partage pas une opinion. Que ce sont les faits. A 27", il nie la responsabilité russe à Boutcha. Pas de relance. Ce sont des mensonges. Les faits ne seront jamais rappelés. A 29", Léa Salamé affirme timidement, "Monsieur le ministre", que les équipes de France 2 ont vu des victimes civiles. Sans préciser où ni quand. Sans rappeler ce que l'on sait de la responsabilité des Russes à Boutcha. Ou dans une multitude d'autres drames. Lavrov repart de plus belles sur le mensonge de Boutcha. Mieux. A 40", Léa Salamé relance Sergueï Lavrov à propos de ses délires sur la volonté des Européens de fournir des armes nucléaires à l'Ukraine. Elle ne dit pas que c'est faux. Elle dit: "Ca, je dois vous dire qu'on a jamais entendu parler de cela. Sans doutes avez vous vos informations." Elle ne lui demande pas ses preuves. Elle ne corrige pas ses mensonges. Elle confirme que la Russie a peut être des informations que les journalistes n'ont pas. C'est tellement hallucinant... que c'est Sergueï Lavrov qui nuance en précisant que ce sont des informations des services de renseignement russes que les Européens "nient complètement". Sergueï Lavrov a tellement intégré que ce n'était pas une discussion que c'est lui, tout du long, qui dicte le tempo. Il parle et remet l'oreillette de la traduction lorsqu'il daigne laisser la journaliste poser une question. Puis il l'enlève. Il ne peut donc pas être interrompu. Léa Salamé fait la décoration. Toutes les 5 à 10 minutes on la voit hocher la tête, en faisant "ouai, Anchorage", ou "ouai, voila". Elle tente de faire des signes. Ouvre de grands yeux qui clignotent. They chose to be there because the risk-adjusted return on their lives was positive. Better jobs. No income tax. Safety. The entire economic model of the UAE is a value proposition, and that value proposition has a denominator called security that just went to zero. Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has suspended all flights indefinitely. Etihad suspended until Monday. Singapore Airlines cancelled its Dubai service through March 7. United Airlines through March 4. More than eighteen hundred flights were cancelled on Saturday alone, another fourteen hundred on Sunday. Dubai International Airport, which handled over a hundred and twenty seven million passengers last year, is dark. A CNN verified video from inside the terminal shows a passenger in a blood-spattered shirt being told to go home. The UAE Ministry of Education has moved all schools to distance learning through Wednesday. Sharjah Airport is shut. Abu Dhabi Airport took a direct hit that killed a Pakistani national and wounded seven. The UAE confirmed its air defenses intercepted one hundred and thirty seven ballistic missiles and two hundred and nine drones. Fourteen drones were not intercepted. Their debris fell on residential neighborhoods, hotel facades, port facilities, and according to multiple reports, a shopping center in Sharjah. Here is what matters.
