Lewandowski became a star at Dortmund. Hit his prime at Bayern Munich. Won everything. Established himself as one of the greatest strikers of his generation. Then the moment he started leaving his prime years, FC Barcelona took him. And honestly, even that move already felt late to me. Barcelona at the time were struggling financially and needed experience badly. Lewandowski was more of a survival signing than some long-term elite project. Now fast forward a few years later and he’s 37. So my question is simple: what exactly is he coming to Manchester United to do? Because Manchester United should operate at the same level as Barcelona, Bayern and the biggest clubs in the world. So why are United behaving like a retirement solution for players leaving those clubs? United used to develop elite players in their best years. Then when those players became older, they moved elsewhere. That was the standard. So why exactly should the reverse now become acceptable? That’s not ambition. Ambition is going for players like Michael Olise, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or even Erling Haaland. Players entering or approaching their prime. Not players already leaving it
