@ColetteNin @mamboitaliano__ Greek here, a blonde haired blue eyed Northern European Woman would have been as foreign to the Ancient Greeks as a Black Woman from Africa, so I feel the same way about Nyong’o that I feel about Damon. I just wish they cast at least one Greek actor 😔

@_DubzyWubzy_ @ColetteNin @mamboitaliano__ Greece is a highly based and Orthodox Christian country so the trans bit will not fly. However, ancient Greeks respected African blacks and even regarded them as blessed by the gods, handsome and pious people. Modern greece is very racist though.

@ColetteNin @mamboitaliano__ As a half Greek, I will tell you that there are plenty of talented Hellenic actors out there. We are not an extinct people. My Greek friends and family in Greece are tired of the epics being used and changed by hollywood, but they are not surprised, this is nothing new.

People in southern Russia are reporting a surge in unusually aggressive Hyalomma ticks, which reportedly actively chase hosts instead of simply waiting in grass like ordinary forest ticks. Russian media say the large ticks have become particularly active across regions including Rostov, Krasnodar, Stavropol, Astrakhan and Kalmykia. The main concern is that Hyalomma ticks can carry Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, a potentially deadly disease with a high fatality rate if untreated. Some reports also claim the ticks are far less responsive to standard repellents than ordinary species.

@MattTheHewR @DIAS He didn't quite refer to her as blonde. She's "kallíkomos" which means lovely haired. He described her appearance in skin quality as "leukōlenos" white armed. That was a class reference meaning she was not working outside in the sun, she was an indoor woman of leisure.
