TL;DR of the "bardpill" (static aiming training method): 1. learn aiming like you would learn a musical instrument - master the technique slowly at first 2. flick fast but take your time on the correction 3. restart if you miss in the first 10 secs 4. restart on 4th miss GL!

mmm yeah, my feed so far has only shown me the big posts w/ the documents, probably because I don't interact with the bystanders. I guess I am a bystander too tho, not sure if you saw my post as such as well. I can tell you I commented on this really out of frustration because I just want this to stop, it's embarrassing to witness and also annoying given how much of my efforts I feel like I've put into this community

@bardozVAL What freaks me out the most about this is how eager EVERYONE that is just a bystander is to "join in" and "participate" in it - once a drama pops the entire timeline is full with it and people feel like they MUST comment on it for whatever reason even if they add no value...?

Someone needs to do a large scale social study and figure out why the aim community seems unable to stay out of drama. I can't understand if this is true of every online community and I just notice it more because of my feed, but it really feels worse than any other community I have seen. I think that not saying random offensive/racist/discriminatory stuff is not something one should have any struggle with, so I don't understand why this keeps happening. I understand that most people are very young in the community so maybe that's the root cause. That said, I don't understand this love for the big "About the X situation" posts with a bunch of screenshots and text etc. "exposing" people either. I am too old to know what it feels like to be a teenager in a discord community, but I can at least understand people defending themselves saying that whatever idiotic statement they said was due to their young age, as long as they openly admit to being wrong, especially if they have shown to have grown out of that phase for a long time and to have been a positive influence. People can learn from their mistakes and they can get over them, so what is the goal of trying to stir up drama with years old screenshots? In general I think I don't understand why a community whose goal should be self improvement in esports (which is supposed to be a fun thing...?) seems to spend 500x the effort either being stupid and offensive for attention, or "exposing" others for attention, than actually training or playing games. Even when people make educational resources lately I have seen immediate drama in the comments, usually name calling, with no added value from either party, regardless of the actual quality of the resource. I am not against confrontation or discussion, obviously. I do it all the time. But usually I have a goal in mind, 99% of the time the goal is to fight misinformation, or to get to the bottom of some question/doubt. So one could call this drama too, of course, but I think my issue is with the sterile nature of the drama that has been happening for at least the last 3ys in this community, where it's literally self destruction of what could be a great place for people to find a more structured environment to learn how to be better gamers. Basically, I am just sad because I know at this point "we" the aim community are (to a degree, rightfully so), seen as a joke to basically everyone that is exposed to us without being actively part of it. I am not even trying to make a point with this post. I just wish this would stop happening.

@dawnmoer but why would this happen more in aim training? I am sure there's chronically online people in every game niche (mmo's for example) but I am not sure this same thing happens there? it's so weird

yeah this is a good formalization, I think. I just don't understand the initial premise. Aim training is anti-social as in single player, but its goal is to use it to play multiplayer games... not saying that competitive shooters are "social" but these games don't seem to spawn the same type of drama? Basically, this would be a great formalization for someone that basically ONLY plays aim training without ever playing multiplayer games

Anti social game -> anti social people -> (unusually strong desire for acceptance in a specific group, ineffective strategies to fit in/be liked) -> (causing problems in order to try to feel important, waying in or supporting problems to try to feel like part of a social setting) ->: left is cause, right is effect (,): tuple, both items caused by same source combine for same output

@lightcoreXYZ Sorry maybe I am just not imagining the same things, could you give me an example of a nuance that might be missed by someone that isn't a good player? Honest question, not trying to do a gotcha or a rhetorical question

@bardozVAL ALSO last thing I am adding to this - sorry - things not necessarily mattering to a person that can't tell many differences doesn't mean the differences aren't there and that they shouldn't be a vital part of a proper well-done review

It shouldn't be a hot take to expect reviewers that review mice that are made for gaming to be proficient in... well... gaming? How are you going to spot nuances in gameplay when you don't know what you are using the mouse for? Telling me it's "comfortable" is NOT enough...

I am not sure that a better player would necessarily spot more nuances is what I'm saying, and often these are nuances that would ONLY matter for a top player. I know logically you'd assume better player == more able to deeply understand a peripheral but really if you think of some examples you'll realize very often this is not true. The issue is that even when this isn't true, since they ARE good players, people tend to just assume they are right (argument to authority), which leads to incorrect/false information ending up more and more widespread. Also, as I said in the other comment, often a good player is so adaptable that they WON'T spot the small nuances. For example people make a massive deal about skates but in my experience they are mostly irrelevant, people HATE gpx stock skates, they make crazy claims that they are scratchy, unusable etc. while they are barely a factor for me. Does that mean that since I am good either way, skates are irrelevant? Or does that mean that I have adapted to such a degree that the finer details flatten down at this point? I don't have the answer to this myself, but I am sure that I could sway people to convince themselves that "skates don't matter" if I started just saying it loudly JUST because I'm a good aimer, which would be unfair imo. Basically, being analytical/perceptive/able to spot nuances doesn't always come with skill itself, and skill isn't a prerequisite for it either.

@bardozVAL That FTIP-phenomenon seems to be aimcom-specific which I didn‘t really focus on in my tweet, but also is a seperate issue (a valid one though) that doesn‘t really touch on the fundamental principle that a better player will of course spot more nuances that I was getting at, no?

you'd think so, but in my experience, this is often just flat out wrong... plenty of world class people do not have an actual conscious understanding but mostly rely on the subconscious/intuition and are often not good at ALL at verbalizing it, so they wouldn't necessarily make good reviewers. Another thing is that a world class aimer is also extremely adaptable (as aim is very much related to being able to adapt to different situations/stimuli/environments), and being very adaptable sometimes also means that you get SO good at overcoming small issues, that they become almost invisible to you, while they might be extremely relevant for someone else. Whereas someone that has average skill might actually provide more valuable insights for an average player, you know what I mean?

@bardozVAL @lightcoreXYZ While there is little room for grey areas and slight nuances, the person achieving world class performance using said instrument could provide overwhelming more trustable latent insights and has actual real world performance backing his understanding/claims

I'm compiling clips of the PD170 for the review (so basically every clip I recorded in the last 4 mo) and found this one with the CRDRAKO KO-ONE and I realized I might be sleeping on this mouse, got to try it more, I only ever did this one DM session with it

Disclaimer: I have not looked into this at all, just tried it in game for 5s. I don’t think it’s doing anything, because when I use my keyboard/mouse switcher software, I imagine if it was using rawinput for the keyboard for real, the key strokes would still be registered by the game while I switch (like the mouse does), but they don’t, so I just assumed it’s not actually working. But again, haven’t looked into it any more in depth

Never experienced hype bigger than the one for PD170. Huge thanks to @frostyZK @PulsarGears for sending this out for me to try! Easily the fastest pad I’ve used. Disliking arm sleeves and glasspads as I prefer to aim with fingertip contact, this solves everything.
