Or I work for the money I earn and can’t sit around and wait at retail stores for restocks, so I use other sources to find product and if that means card shows then yes . It’s cheaper to buy at card shows through vendors you can build relationships with and get deals off of market price then it is to buy online. So I’ll save a few bucks a purachse from the vendor and maybe trade some cards in also to bring the price down more so me and my boys can rip! Again this move does nothing but hurt people like me forcing me to buy online and spend even more

@Optimus02729265 @angelodotsui Ya it’s a gut punch to all the people who use that card shows to get sealed product also! This isn’t a win and doesn’t stop the problem. All that it’s gonna do is ruin that show. And the scalpers are going to continue what they do.

the card show that banned retail sealed products just doubled down after community feedback now all buying and selling of retail sealed product is banned, for both vendors and attendees. they’re also banning gambling style games, mystery packs and mystery boxes the focus will be on slabs, singles, binders and clearly labeled fan art honestly, this feels like a healthy move for the hobby curious to see if other shows follow

So you think since they can’t sell at shows that product is going to magically reappear on shelves? Thing is it won’t. There are other resources to sell eBay, TCG, Facebook. All this does is hurt the show and the community of people who can’t wait at retail and go to shows for their product. They are now forced to buy online and spend more because shipping and tax. At least at a show I can usually get 10 dollars off market price if I ask or trade duplicate cards I have for sealed

So selling sealed product at market prices is evil but selling singles at market price is completely fine? I’m very glad this not my local show. The market solves itself on these things if people don’t want it they won’t buy it. Ultimately it’s the promoters to show to run how they want to and attendees and dealers will dictate how this works out.

@barzyMN @angelodotsui That's true. To be honest, I hate scalpers for everything...sports, concerts, TCG.... the only real way to stop them is by putting a hard limit in person and trying to prevent bots online

I like the thought but unfortunately I don’t believe that will happen! Product moves fast online especially in live auctions. At card shows I get some vendors scalp product but again I can usually offer 10 below market and they will make a deal. Or I have the option of trading cards for sealed product to rip. All this is going to do is hurt the show. Less vendors show up, people looking for seal now mad they can’t buy sealed there and forced to go online and pay more because stock still isn’t in retail stores

@mason703683221 @angelodotsui Maybe if scalped inventory doesn't move as fast, these 50 year olds who camp toy sections at stores, or fight in line at a best buy will stop. I'm actually starting to see TCG sellers require purchases of 2, 3, or 5 sealed product. Hopefully scalpers lose their shirts

@DmgdPokemonGuy @PeakHobby So I Can get stuck paying shipping and tax? At least at a card show I can trade cards for sealed and offer lower usually they will sell it $10 under market I’ve found. This just hurts people that can’t sit around and wait for restocks. Im personally glad vendors sell sealed.

@PeakHobby I don’t see the problem, if you want to buy a 200 dollar ascended heroes etb just hit up FB market place or eBay they have TONS.

UPDATE Based on feedback they received, the card show has implemented even more changes: “ALL buying & selling of retail sealed product will be banned across the board… includes both vendors & attendees” “Banning all gambling-style games (spin the wheel, dice rolls, etc.) as well as mystery packs & boxes.” “Any fan art cards must be clearly labeled to avoid confusion” What do you think these rules for card shows?

@PeakHobby You all really think this will work, they ban sealed from card shows and it magically appears back on retail shelves? You still won’t find it in stores you will be forced to buy from Facebook, eBay, TCG and get stuck paying market taxes and shipping. So seems like a lose lose.
