Perhaps the world's last aggressively modernist society. Led by war heroes and revolutionaries with PhDs, intent on achieving a hyper-modern, highly educated industrial society without sacrificing religious or social values like in East Asia. An audacious dream, to be sure.

A benefit of authoritarianism is that when you’re limited on human capital, you can just tell your smart guys what to do. “No, we don’t need better advertisements or search engine optimization, we need nuclear missiles, get to work.”

I used to know a highly intelligent Black guy. As in genuinely intelligent, top of his class in grades, eventually became a millionaire in his 20's He hated other Blacks. Loathed them. Had absolutely nothing in common with them. He was a modern day Uncle Ruckus, hating everything popular in Black communities This is often the experience of minorities that are extreme IQ outliers, they can't even deny all the racist comments outsiders make about their co-ethnics
