@notgaetti In my book "Auditioning for Cooperstown" (2012), I made the point that several players received far more votes that they deserved due to a singular accomplishment, i.e. Mazeroski, Vander Meer, Maris and others.

@melissalockard Hard to believe that it's already 35 years ago. I was at Candlestick in the upper deck down the third base line. I'm just glad that the ballpark held up. Can you imagine the casualties if the upper deck had collapsed?

@billjamesonline What about John Fisher? Would Oakland be willing to deal with again? Fisher's selling the A's might give Oakland the incentive to woo the A's back to their long time home. However, I'm not holding my breath for that to happen.

Is it unrealistic to think that three years in Sacramento could serve as a cooling-off period, or as reality therapy, after which Oakland might decide to build a new stadium with no resident possums, and the A's might decide to come back? Unrealistic?

@nut_history Will Clark's mistake was telling the whole world about reading lips. He should have kept that advantage to himself. Now it's an automatic reflex with mound visitors.

REPORT: Israel apparently intercepted the pagers from Taiwan that detonated in the pockets of thousands of Hezbollah fighters before they reached Lebanon. According to the New York Times, Israel tampered with the devices that Hezbollah ordered. They reportedly placed two ounces of explosive material next to the battery in each pager. "A switch was also embedded that could be triggered remotely to detonate the explosives," the Times reported. Hezbollah fighters received a message at 3:30 p.m. Lebanon time that looked like it was coming from Hezbollah’s leadership. When the message came through, there was a brief pause, presumably so the fighters would raise the pagers toward their face, before they detonated. Over 2,800 people were injured and 9 people were k*lled.

@Brink_Thinker I also have Parkinson's (and stool softener constipation which is almost gone) and have developed my own stretching routines with minimal effort. It's hard to describe, but it's effective for me.
