There were two games on the Wednesday evening Richland Post 215 Program schedule. One was a playoff game and the other would be a first in Richland Post 215 Program history. At AC Flora Falcon Field, Richland Post 215 Senior hosted West Columbia Post 79 Senior. Tyler Hernandez would get the start for Richland Post 215. He would pitch a five inning perfect game for Richland Post 215 Senior in a 15-0 win. It is very likely the first perfect game in the history of Richland Post 215 program. Afterwards, Coach Dorsey proudly noted the fact and gave the game ball to Tyler. It was only fitting that his battery mate was his brother Dylan. And they both took a picture together afterwards. Tyler threw fifty six pitches, thirty seven for strikes. He struck out four batters. Hitting wise, Tyler went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. His brother Dylan went 2 for 3 with a triple, a double and 6 RBIs. Austin Jeffcoat went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Roper went 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Alvin went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Rohan Brenner went 2 for 2 with an RBI and 4 runs scored. Joe Ray went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Charlie Scott went 1 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored. With the win, Richland Post 215 Senior clinched second place in the Midlands League and a playoff spot. Meanwhile over at Ben Lippen High School, Richland Post 215 Gold AAA hosted the first game of the best of three quarterfinals vs. Lugoff Navy AAA. The game would be tied at one until the bottom of the fifth when Richland Post 215 Gold AAA plated the go ahead run on an RBI fielder’s choice to give them a 2-1 lead. Richland Post 215 Gold AAA would go onto win the game 2-1 to take a 1-0 lead in the best of three series. Richland Post 215 Gold AAA got an outstanding complete game performance by pitcher Tim Cole. He pitched a one hitter, allowing an unearned run, striking out three batters. He threw only ninety five pitches in seven innings. Luke Smoak went 2 for 3 with a run scored. Kellen Moore went 2 for 4. Tim Manning went 1 for 4 with an RBI. Zach Nelson went 1 for 2. Will Krouse went 1 for 4 with a double. Brody Price had an RBI. There are three games on the Thursday night Richland Post 215 schedule. First Richland Post 215 Navy AA hosts the Blythewood Bombers at Ben Lippen High School for the South Carolina American League State AA Championship. Blythewood rallied to defeat Aiken Baseball Club AA 8-7 to advance to the championship game. Over at AC Flora Falcon Field, Richland Post 215 Senior hosts Sumter Post 15 Senior, the Midlands League regular season champion, in the last regular season game before playoffs start next week. And Richland Post 215 Gold AAA plays Lugoff Elgin Navy AAA at Lugoff Elgin High School in Game 2 of the best of 3 series. A win by Richland Post 215 Gold AAA will send them to the State AAA Championship Tournament. We hope to see our Richland Post 215 family and friends at either Ben Lippen High School, AC Flora Falcon Field or Lugoff High School to root on our Richland Post 215 Teams!
