This is just the first step in separating shadcn/ui from Vercel. Because it only get worse at this point - presets, styles and all other v0-baked shit. People don’t realize how closed this ecosystem actually is. Commercial registries controlled by affiliated group of people, who share profits with Vercel team members. They literally buying backlinks from Vercel websites. Most of those registries run by same people, who employee people from Asian sweatshops for $500/month, so they print hundreds of tasteless blocks. True creators suppressed. We will change that. And yeah, the name really isn’t an issue lol. Renaming is easy.
