Last week I got into a car accident. Just driving through an intersection with a green light, when some kid with a learners permit drivers license, with no other “supervisor” with a valid license in the car, decided to make a left turn directly into the side of my car. No way I could have avoided this even with F1 driver reflexes. My car was completely totalled and has been deemed a complete loss by my insurance, @AllstateCanada . This all happened less than two weeks before I was supposed to make the drive from Alberta to Ontario to start a new job. Well now @AllstateCanada have completely fucked me. The vehicle was being financed and they’re refusing to pay off the full amount owing on the vehicle, so now I’m $10,000 in the hole, and with no vehicle. I’ve been trying to fight the settlement amount, however, the adjuster for the claim is not even responding to my emails or calls. The accident happened on Apr 27 and I reported it the same day. I was told the adjuster would be in touch in two days. Yeah that didn’t happen. I heard from him Friday afternoon (May 1)when he made the settlement offer: $10000 less than what is owing. Since then, Ive emailed the adjuster every day with documented evidence challenging the settlement. Called @AllstateCanada three times saying no one’s getting back to me. And now I’m sitting here in the dark still with no responses up until this morning Friday May 8 where they made a revised offer just $1000 higher.
So, still $9000 short.
I was supposed to drive back to Ontario on Monday May 11 with all of my belongings. But yeah that ain’t happening now. Now ive got to catch a flight and sell basically everything I was planning to bring, except for my clothes LOL and I guess rebuy everything.
The big frustration as I’ve noted has been the lack of communication from @AllstateCanada and their adjuster. Just two emails in a matter of almost two weeks, while I’ve constantly expressed the urgency of this matter. Anyways ,this was more geared to get the attention of @AllstateCanada as I feel there is an injustice being done here. All I want is the loan to be settled in full. The “funniest” thing about all this? Their slogan is “YOURE IN GOOD HANDS” - LOLLLLLLL you honestly cannot make this shit up.
