So I’m getting the @UNB-wide teaching award at Fall Convocation tomorrow - yay! 🥳It's a pretty big deal since there are a maximum of two recipients per year, and I’ve only been here since 2019.
UNB@UNB

At the Fall 2022 graduation ceremony, we will be granting Hereditary Chief Stephen Augustine an honorary degree, Dr. Ian Church and Basil Alexander teaching awards and Dr. Shelley Doucet a research award! Congratulations on your notable accomplishments! 👏

We had the privilege of welcoming Chief Justice Richard to @UNBLaw yesterday. He gave a very engaging talk on appellate advocacy; a big boost for our 1L @UNBLawStudents as they prepare for their compulsory moot. Thanks to Profs. @basilalexander and @MayaHamou for organizing!

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Hon. J.C. Marc Richard, Chief Justice of New Brunswick, for joining this week's Speaker's Hour to discuss effective appellate advocacy. The session was especially helpful for 1Ls, who are preparing for their first @UNBLaw moot.

It's been great working with @richard__moon and @KerriFroc as coeditors on this project. The workshop was terrific, with deep discussions and lots of food for thought.

My add for this today will be "Taking Peaceful Assembly (2(c)) for Granted: Its Surprising Underdevelopment So Far and Contributing Factors to Overcome", which builds on some of my past peaceful assembly work. Looking forward to others' thoughts and how our work interacts!

Tomorrow, a group of us will gather for a workshop called The Surprising Constitution, thinking about ways in which the Const Act, 1982 has been, or will be, surprising. Thanks to @KerriFroc and @richard__moon for organizing with me.

We’re keeping the #UNBLaw faculty features coming — Prof. @basilalexander was quoted in the Telegraph Journal elaborating on the use of a court order by the province in an ongoing public safety case. bit.ly/3w2e3K2
