If I were to start a simple email list for folks who want to stay in the loop on what I’m working on…what should I use?

@jordibruin I want to use MacWhisper Pro. I have 3 personal macs and want to use it on all of them. Do I need to buy 3 personal licenses or am I allowed / able to use it on all my macs?

@mhenrixon it’s really disappointing how bad this is being implemented. not just this but all the parental controls. seems like none of the PMs has kids 🤷‍♂️

Apples parental controls are a slap in the face of parents. Ask approval to install app—crickets! Nothing on my laptop, nothing on my phone.

This is so fascinating. A Ruby on rails application deployed to a number of cheap Hetzner VPS could likely cut that spend as low as $40 for similar performance. It is astonishing that people still accept this in 2025. Having to at all worry about spend feels like the stone age dark times.

so a few weeks ago, i moved ~20 client side requests to server side (on 1 page) now my vercel bill jumped from $300 a month to $3,550 this month, where 99% of it comes from "serverless function duration" is this? normal?

Claude sucks at writing Stimulus Controllers. I don't know where it's getting some of those ideas. Does touching JS just make it instantly dumb? 🤔 A decent CLAUDE file is a must. #rubyonrails

Claude Code works great for Rails apps! Just offload a all the boring work to your friendly AI. - Use Git Worktrees for isolation 🌳 - Tmux/Tmuxinator to run multiple Claude instances 💪 - Some scripting to tie everything together. I've written about it here 👇 #rubyonrails

@NetflixDE what an annoying experience. about to leave for holidays with the kids and they cannot download their favorite series as your service is telling them they cannot download stuff. nothing is or was downloaded in the current billing cycle. no download device listed in my account. very annoying for me!! why does it tell that there‘s a limit of 15 downloads … what the heck! what a bad experience for my holidays to come when the kids cannot access their series 👎

We used to pay around $200/month for Pipdrive. I vibe coded a simple CRM in 5 minutes. Sure, doesn't have a backend yet and all functionality. But this is AI in the early stages. I can't imagine that basic Saas tools will be around in 2-3 years.

Capybara - unable to find errors Recently my rails system tests started failing with the following errors: - Capybara::ElementNotFound: Unable to find visible link or button - Selenium::WebDriver::Error::UnexpectedAlertOpenError: unexpected alert open - Capybara::ModalNotFound: Unable to find modal dialog - Capybara::ElementNotFound: Unable to find visible field They we're pretty stable before with some random failures here and there, but most of the time they passed. Now they constantly fail on my local mac while they keep passing on GitHub Action Runner. The webdriver-selenium and capybara gems are the latest version and didn't receive an update recently. I also checked out eearlier versions of my codebase, but the error still occurs. That leads me to the conclusion, that an updated version of chrome is causing the problem. Has anyone experienced the same issue recently and found a solution for it?

First , I was trying capybara-lockstep which suprisingly had no major impact. I then switched to cuprite and added manual network waits with page.driver.wait_for_network_idle Still having some random failures but way better than before. I guess I need to get rid of system tests where possible.
