Cotalk is now live on open beta! I have been silently building this project for the last 3 months, and it is finally ready for people to try it. Cotalk is a lightweight communications app and a place for communities to talk, meet, and keep context. It is community-oriented, low-latency, and privacy-focused. Just shooting around for 1 minute in my pixel art football (soccer) game project. What name should I give to this game? It is still unnamed.

This is the way. Analyzing what structures I enjoyed in the games I played, then working out the game design principles behind those, then applying those principles to the games I am developing. Current tech allows us to expand on scale so much that we lose the core design principles that enjoyment was built upon.

@basoner_dev maybe a bit, but i am trying to remind myself to understand why I enjoyed those games from first principles & then figuring out new ideas that my ~30 yr old self would enjoy (while still diving into nostalgia land in certain ways (a bit))

Updated the on-ball locomotion system for my pixel art football (soccer) game project. The old system glued the ball to the player's feet, which was unrealistic. The new system utilizes actual individual touches to queue and resolve football actions like dribbling or shooting. When the player is sprinting, the ball is nudged farther from the feet, and tackles have a higher chance of success. When changing dribbling directions suddenly, a small movement speed penalty is applied to the player, which represents the acceleration after a sudden direction change. The old system did not account for that and made dribbling trivial; it now requires skill and good timing to catch the defender on the wrong foot. Working on making it feel decisive, fluid, and responsive.

New camera for the bug game. World up cam is most stable but on steep slopes & ceilings local cam is useful. Also, early look at terraforming. Can't wait to implement worms so I can give them insane digging ability. Do myriapods even dig? #screenshotsaturday #madewithunity

@mage_ops I am kind of a soccer nerd in terms of tactics, so tactical realism (even if abstracted to pixel art format) is one of the main elements for this project. Will be sharing the updates and potentially a Steam page soon :)
