I don’t know how most of you Manchester United fans view football but I, as a Manchester United fan too, view football as consistency. You cannot talk about football and a successful manager without talking about consistency first, before trophies. When you talk about football for me you talk about new age managers like Mikel Arteta, Ruben Amorim, Andoni Iraola, there are more, tho. Now look; Mikel Arteta’s League finishes with Arsenal before clinching on the title with them this season - 8th, 8th, 5th, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st…. Can you see the consistent improvements and the pattern? Definitely an uptrend 📈 Ruben Amorim’s League finishes with Sporting - 4th, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 1st… Can you also see the pattern? Of course it wasn’t like Arteta’s but you can also observe the consistent pattern of always maintaining the top 4. Still an uptrend too but with fluctuations. 📈 At Man Utd, he had a worst first season but took responsibility and promised the storm would soon be over and he showed it by taking the team to 6th from 15th, which was a massive evidence of improvement. Andoni Iraola’s League finishes with Bournemouth - 12th, 9th, 6th.. the consistency in improvements and the patterns is also very visible here. He finished 6th with the club’s record point and got them their first ever European Qualification. That’s consistency. And an uptrend too 📈. Football nowadays isn’t a get successful quick scheme and after that you get sacked, NO. It’s all about the patterns and improvements and the consistency. There’s no way you would be consistent as a manager and not invite the trophies. Now, I can’t compare Michael Carrick to any of these 3 because his pattern is different from theirs. Here: Michael Carrick’s league finishes with Middlesbrough - 4th, 8th, 10th. Took them to the playoffs in his first season which he lost and that’s it. There’s absolutely no sign of consistency and improvements. His pattern was a downtrend 📉 and as a Manchester United fan supporting him, ask yourself this, he finished 3rd this season, can he finish 3rd or above next season??🤷‍♂️ I don’t hate him, I’m just letting you know he doesn’t possess the ability to coach improvements and consistency and it’s what Manchester United need right now.
