Seeing the Sycamore Gap tree was on my ‘must do’ list. So sad that this has happened.
National Trust@nationaltrust
We are shocked and desperately saddened to learn that the famous Sycamore Gap tree at Hadrian's Wall has been felled overnight, in what appears to be an act of vandalism. We know just how much this iconic tree is loved locally, nationally and by everyone who has visited. We are working with our partners to understand what has happened and what can be done. The incident has also been reported to the police.

Fwiw I don’t think hunting with hounds would be effective for more contemporary conservation effort of fox control, but you can’t deny its support in ‘the real world’. I’d also question the rationale of people claiming it’s immoral to watch foxes ‘being ripped apart’ in one 1/2
David Redvers@dredvers
Support for the annual Boxing Day meet in Ledbury is growing and it’s wonderful to see this tradition, that stretches back 170 years, is flourishing. 💪
