I love seeing Black women being loved on screen. However, I don’t think a Black female character’s only purpose is to be the love interest. One of my pet peeves is when the character doesn’t have an identity outside of being a love interest. Also, if the romance sucks, it sucks. I’m not going to pretend to like it just because it’s an interracial relationship.
