“I think they have improved as much as any football team in the NFL this off-season…this is the most complete team that Joe Burrow has had since the Super Bowl run.” -Dan Orlovsky on the Bengals

The more I read these replies the more I realize how much of a disservice the Bengals did Cordell Volson by forcing him into a starter role as a rookie. There’s a reason the guy is still getting NFL contracts. He’s a fine 6th/7th guy in an OL room. That’s valuable.

Does anybody else get the idea that Troy Brown’s promotion was not just an added title? This draft has “guy that worked for the Eagles” written all over it

@BengalsBrews A diamond in the rough could be Carmona of Arkansas, if they miss on a guy in the 4th. Carmona should be there in the 6th, and he's been getting a lot of work at C in his off-season program after getting in great shape.

Will the Bengals take a center? Brian Parker II is versatile and from Cincinnati. I could see them going that route.

@bburton359 Not sure I'm trusting many day 3 picks to be a backup C in year 1. They probably need to hit FA or cutdown day to get one. I do like a few IOL left in this draft but not certain if they have C flexibility or not. IMO they still have CB snaps available and need another guy.

@maxmurp_ And how the scheme will be. I see Howell and Mafe as the "Sam" backer that goes to edge in nickel. If Dugger come down as a backer in some situations, then you're deeper than just Knight, Carter, and Burkes.

Now, that pick tells you how the coaches and FO feel about Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight Jr. 💯🔥

@andreperrotta13 There could be an OL or TE that could be BPA at 72. At that point every player is going to have a flaw. So it'll come down to need and what value you put on said flaw.

The best player at #41 and #72 is likely not going to be an offensive player. Just draft the best available defensive player at both picks. Plenty of very good options as Matt shows. CIN ideally leaves Day-2 with an Edge player since the talent (one of the deepest positions in this class) matches the need and positional value.

It’s a shame the Rams took Simpson. I wanted the Steelers to take another bad QB.

@BrandonThornNFL Does Jonathan Allen and Dexter Lawrence on the same D-line mean trouble for the O-lines of the AFC North or are they not that complimentary in your viewings?

Going to do a casual Q&A for a bit this afternoon before I’m offline the Friday night through most of Sunday. Reply with OL/DL, draft, team-building, pass pro/run game, or scouting questions and I’ll answer the best ones here.
