You might be cool but you will never be Dr. J cool 🔥 I was told on this app basketball players are more skilled than ever, why is it I have NEVER seen a craftier/better finisher around the rim like Erving in 40 years?

@Jacobtheclipper Other than Mike who I grew up watching, Dr.J and George Gervin are probably the best finishers around the rim I've seen. Only saw their highlights though

March 22, 1981: Philadelphia's Julius Erving dunks on Boston's Cedric Maxwell, off the feed from Andrew Toney. Erving scored 24 PTS (11-15 FG) and Maurice Cheeks added 18 PTS/9 AST in the 76ers' 126-94 win. Larry Bird scored 19 PTS and Maxwell had 13 PTS/11 REB for the Celtics.

@bc_colli @marks1356 @kaj33 That’s good. Because it would be ridiculous for Kareem not to be on the low block and putting infinite more pressure on the defense.

Even in his mid 30’s Wilt’s standing vertical off two feet was insane. During Kareem’s @kaj33 20-year career no other center came close to blocking the skyhook as often as The Big Dipper did. That’s just a basketball truth.

@arhooptalk @marks1356 @kaj33 Yeah I hear you…Kareem actually looked like he had a decent 3 point shot when he played Dr. J one on one shortly after both were retired. I was pleasantly shocked!

@arhooptalk @kaj33 And young people, who never saw Wilt, think he was just a tall guy playing with midgets. He was a dominant force and would still be dominating today.

@TheHoopCentral The nerve of @dmorey to get rid of him without even securing the Sixers 1st rd pick back 🤣. You can't make this up as a Sixer fan.

March 16th 1970 - 24 year old Tammi Terrell, who teamed up with Marvin Gaye for several #Motown hits, died at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. While Terrell was being established as a star, the migraines and headaches she had suffered from since childhood were becoming more constant. While Terrell complained of pain, she insisted to people close to her that she was well enough to perform. Her relationships with James Brown and David Ruffin make for awful reading. She was beaten by both. Due to complications resulting from a brain tumor, Terrell was using a wheelchair, experienced blindness and hair loss, and weighed only 93 pounds. Following her eighth and final operation on January 21, 1970, Terrell went into a coma. She died on March 16 at the age of 24. Gaye was the only Motown employee allowed at her funeral.

Young NBA fans talk about players physically evolving over the years. Explain how Wilt from the 1960’s is the most physically skilled 7ft that isn’t a toothpick?

I am not exaggerating when I say trading away McCain was a franchise altering decision. Daryl Morey is a bum who is horrible at his job. Happy to see Jared thriving and can’t wait to see Morey be fired.

Jeff Teague says if Joel Embiid had a healthy NBA career he would be the greatest center of all time: “Like, it’s not even a joke. It would be between him and Jokic. He would be at least one or two greatest center of all time. If he was full time healthy bro, it would be a joke.” (Via @club520podcast)

Reminder: If Dallas Goedert did not believe this was a Super Bowl caliber roster, he would not have taken a 50% discount for a single year when he could have secured generational wealth on the market. Eagles legend, and selfless teammate.
