amantadine hits dopamine from three angles simultaneously:
> reuptake inhibition (weak)
>presynaptic release
> NMDA antagonism blocking excitotoxicity
that means you're effectively getting elevated dopamine while your neurons are actively protected from damage.
and the anticholinergic properties balance acetylcholine/dopamine ratios automatically - for some this would not be a good thing, but given the amount of modafinil and citicoline i've been doing, it's an interesting experiment.
the focus should feel extremely "clean"
and more, the sigma-1 receptor activation adds neuroplasticity ON TOP of the dopamine effects.
