He inherited high prices locked into the system from 2021–2024 inflation. When Biden took office: ~ Inflation ~1.2% ~ Gas ~ $2.39 ~ Prices overall much lower When Trump took office (2025): ~ Prices already ~20% higher than 2021 ~ Gas had hit $5 during Biden years ~ Food up 20–25% ~ Real wages had fallen ~ Savings rates dropped IMPORTANT: Even when inflation drops, prices don’t go back down - they just stop rising as fast. BIDEN YEARS (2021–2025) What actually caused the pain people feel now: ~ Massive government spending ~ Supply chain crisis ~ Energy restrictions ~ Russia/Ukraine war ~ Inflation peaked at 9.1% ~ Prices rose ~20% overall ~ Gas hit $5 ~ Groceries up 20–25% ~ Real wages went backwards THAT’S WHERE THE COST OF LIVING PAIN CAME FROM.
