I already see the rest of LawTwitter commenting on how stupid this is for lawyers, so I'm going to take another approach: the real high risk individuals for this line of thought? Sports coaches. You prepared day and night to help your college football team win the SEC? Too bad if you didn't win. I ordered wins.

The United States of America and Israel has just bombed a school full of students in Iran. ~40 students killed and 48 injured. This violates Article 52 of Additional Protocol (I) Geneva Conventions, but international law clearly doesn’t apply to the U.S. and Israel.

This is an insane take, but let's go to what Model Rule 1.6 actually says: "(a) A lawyer shall not reveal information relating to the representation of a client unless the client gives informed consent..."
Just like the lawyer can't call the FBI *after* talking with the client, they can't do it *during* the talk.
Said another way, the privilege is the client's to waive, not the lawyer's.

@EWErickson You’re acting like any call with a lawyer is automatically privileged. It’s not. Privilege only protects confidential legal advice...and if the attorney knowingly consents to recording, it’s not confidential. That’s black-letter law, not a disbarment offense.
