CEO of Citadel Ken Griffin says that Data Center spend this year alone is set to be half a trillion dollars, $500 billion He says that AI is useful in some areas but it’s not worth the investment, he says a lot of what it produces “It’s all garbage” “Data center spent in the United States this year, over half a trillion dollars, like over $500 billion. You're not gonna generate this kind of spend unless you're gonna make a promise. You're gonna profoundly change the world. So is it hype? Of course — In certain areas, we know it's gonna be profound, whether it's call centers, whether it's helping to improve the productivity of software engineers, but in a number of white collar jobs, you know, there was a, there was a recent Harvard paper on this, they called it AI work Slop, that it looks good, but if you sort of peel back the onion, the substance isn't there. I was with one of my colleagues who runs our commodities business and they, he handed a report on that we were generated with an AI engine. Doesn't matter what the topic was, the first few sentences, like, wow, that's, that's really insightful. And then you go down below that and it's all garbage.”

we are spending too much on agent sandboxes. cost per execution is priced at easily 100-1000x bare metal cost after layers of the cloud supply chain resolve. no wonder sandbox companies are popular putting this market on notice

MCP sucks honestly It eats too much context window and you have to toggle it on and off and the auth sucks I got sick of Claude in Chrome via MCP and vibe coded a CLI wrapper for Playwright tonight in 30 minutes only for my team to tell me Vercel already did it lmao But it worked 100x better and was like 100LOC as a CLI
Morgan@morganlinton

The cofounder and CTO of Perplexity, @denisyarats just said internally at Perplexity they’re moving away from MCPs and instead using APIs and CLIs 👀

@thedelneg @miolini Got it built manually, but I get this in logs when pressing "run prepare.py": Failed to start process: The file “autoresearch-macos” doesn’t exist. Prepare finished with status: -1

@thedelneg @miolini FYI, this doesn't work from readme: open AutoResearchApp.xcodeproj I think you might have forgotten to push the .xcodeproj file from local to GitHub

@joebrusuelas Is this is nominal or real terms? Obviously, if it’s nominal, inflation (and wages) aren’t being taken into account as much as they should.

Encouraging US productivity news. A 4.9% increase in Q3’25 and upward revision to 2Q to 4.1%. That’s an average of 4.5% over that past six months and that’s unmitigated good news. Let’s see going forward if that translates to improvement in total factor productivity. If so then that increases the degrees of freedom over at the Fed on rate cuts and points to an improvement in American living standards. Yes, this estimate will need to survive coming benchmark data revisions to hiring & growth data but for now this is something to celebrate.

Why does no LLM provider have a prompt library? There are about 5-10 prompts I use on an either daily or weekly basis over and over and over again, and I don't need it in the system setting's pre-prompt. I need it on an ad-hoc basis. Can't we get a pop-up of prompts to drop in?

I think GitHub needs competition. I’m not convinced that either Codeberg or sourcehut are the solution. I find both completely non enjoyable to use. They would need a lot of love to get to where GitHub is today, even with all of its faults.

@iannuttall It’s often the case that you start with the clunky thing, then trim the fat off over time. No doubt they’ll be using whatever customers build here for their next training datasets to improve chat. That just takes patience.

This has the potential to be very great, but I think Claude might be in danger of overcomplicating a lot of stuff - Skills with SKILL.md - Agents with AGENTS.md - Marketplaces - Plugins - Projects All with their own way of doing things. I just wanna chat and not worry about all this stuff. Which do I use? What are the best practices?
Claude@claudeai

Claude can now use Skills. Skills are packaged instructions that teach Claude your way of working.

@web3tokenomics @Barchart That’s because there was literally no physical demand for it due to complete shutdowns. I’m not going to say “this time is different” but like Mark Twain said, history often rhymes.

@steipete Was thinking the same thing the other day Won’t work for all use cases, but I think a web standard between HTML/CSS and AI would be helpful so that AI is reading raw data, not visually scanning UI/UX components

@ryancarson This is what I’ve been saying since I was literally 7 years old. Always hated branded clothing. Brands that create logos that take on a life of their own — almost like abstract art — are fine imo though (eg Nike, Adidas, etc.)

Your customers don’t want your swag with your company logo. I don't understand why people don't get this. Why would anyone want to be an unpaid ad for your company?

college didn’t teach you git, docker, APIs, or real teamwork. did they teach you how to sell yourself? how to use what you're learning in the real world? college is still an expensive joke.
