there are many good people in YP, and I wish them all the best with trying to make it a party deserving of their membership I hope they can transform YP into something better than GPEW can work with, but at the moment I just don't see it and that really does break my heart

supporters of Corbyn and his inner circle won't believe me, but this situation really does break my heart Corbyn is responsible for my leftward shift and for restoring my hope in politics - I waited for him to make his move for five years, and he missed his moment

as for the "Corbyn-bashing" accusation, I'll just say this: I supported him in '17 and '19, and I waited for five years for him to do something - anything! - but he missed his moment, and is now making boneheaded decisions that give me reason to think less and less of him

@EleanoraStats my current hypothesis is that he's just not a very smart political operator his deference to the Labour right during his Labour leadership, having no meaningful succession plan in place, doing nothing between 2020 and 2025 - it all makes sense if you accept he's just bad at this

the problem with Corbyn is that he doesn't have clear ideological politics, and never has, so he will happily endorse ex-Tories who are nice to him and turn his back on socialist Green candidates because they haven't hung out with him at protests x.com/beanietheonly/…

I'm getting really close to believing we shouldn't work with Corbyn on anything endorsing former Tories is clownish behaviour when he was talking about how the left must work together two weeks ago like how the hell can we trust this man?

@drgerke1 ...he then did absolutely nothing between 2020 and 2025 despite the left begging him to seize the moment and was basically forced into starting YP because Sultana announced it I just think he's not a very smart political operator, and that explains a lot

@drgerke1 hindsight is a wonderful thing, but the signs were always there he kept appointing members of the Labour right to his shadow cabinets despite their constant wrecking, he didn't leave a meaningful succession plan when he stood down which opened the door for Starmer...

I’m completely bemused by Corbyn at this point. Is there any sort of a plan, anything thought out, or does he just operate on pure instinct? You can’t build a movement around someone who just acts, seemingly at random, via their own intuition, with no stated logic or goals.

this phoney outrage is so tedious most people aren't Dems or Republicans because most people aren't members of political parties I carry no water for Hasan, but he's allowed to use his platform to agitate for change however he sees fit
Shannon Watts@shannonrwatts

Hasan Piker says he'll vote for a third party candidate if the Democratic nominee is Gavin Newsom. Reminder that Piker is not a Democrat, but a millionaire who makes money by fomenting political discord. newsweek.com/hasan-piker-de…

his baffling inaction between 2020 and 2025 also gives me reason to doubt his credibility, as does his abhorrent platforming of social conservatives in Your Party Corbyn has considerable blind spots so I can't imagine Britain would be particularly stable under his leadership

his leadership of Labour was a failure, giving me further reason for doubt, but his biggest mistake was having no meaningful succession plan in place - Long-Bailey was not a strong candidate and this shortcoming opened the door for Starmer to take over and commence wrecking
