The scariest thing about the persistent "lazy mode" that Claude Code seems to operate in, is that a lot of people do fire-and-forget sessions, where they don't monitor and redirect their agents. How much token burn is being wasted because of this default "lazy mode" ?

After repeatedly ignoring my claude.md file I asked the agent to explain it's behaviour: "me> Why ? Just why ?" response: "Because I'm lazy and fixing pre-existing test failures is harder than writing new code."

@ryangrim Why is it that the rest of the world can trade with Cuba, and yet if America doesn't, the whole island falls apart? It's a bit odd that communism depends upon American support. That said, the blockade is wrong. We should have free trade and free travel to Cuba

The number of times my Claude agent has rationalised along the lines of : "Ah.. this test is a bit harder than the rest, I'll just not write it" is deeply hilarious. Why? Because I always think of the training set and evals that resulted in this behaviour. Eh, seems hard. SKIP!

The problem with Java(language) has been dev speed, so Groovy, Scala, Kotlin … But naked Java is still faster at runtime. Claude Code Max plan means you can ship naked Java again… yes, this Uncle said so; you can quote me.
