🚨FIGHT NEWS🚨 Magomed Ankalaev vs Khalil Rountree Jr. #UFCAbuDhabi Main Event July 25th 📰: @VestnikMMA

A Black American woman said African-Americans were once eaten and skinned during slavery while debating oppression on a podcast. The discussion got even more intense after claims about Christopher Columbus were mentioned, leaving the host completely stunned.

I don’t take issue w/ people boasting the Netflix viewership (approx 17 million) - I take issue w/ people drawing comparisons to the UFC in terms of event significance. The event was a massive success for MVP & Netflix. Shows that there’s a market for MMA. But these viewership figures are misleading. It’s entirely correlated to access to the Netflix platform. Netflix boasts roughly 325 million subscribers worldwide. Paramount+, the UFC’s primary home, has 79 million - with a handful of other international broadcast partners streaming UFC (whose figures aren’t typically covered). People didn’t demand Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano - people had a Netflix account and therefore tuned in. At the end of the year, are we actually going to talk about the Netflix MVP card overwhelmingly impacting the greater MMA landscape? I sure won’t. Atleast, not this event SPECIFICALLY. I’ll probably talk about the McGregor return, White House card, Strickland upsetting Chimaev, Harrison vs Nunes, etc. Last thing that will come to mind is “wow, can’t believe Ronda was able to armbar 44 y/o Carano - who hadn’t fought since 2009……” Again, huge success for Netflix/MVP. Competition is GOOD for the MMA industry. But we need to be real when drawing comparisons to the industry standard (the UFC) when measuring relevance. #NetflixMVP | #UFCFreedom250 | #UFC329

Prime Rafael dos Anjos doesn’t get talked about enough. People remember the losses late in his career, but the version of RDA that ran through Pettis, Henderson, Diaz, and Cerrone was an absolute machine. He could drown elite fighters over 25 minutes. One of the most complete lightweights the UFC ever had.
