@beave2010@SKMJohnson@TeachHoopsBBall Believe me I've been to enough club volleyball tournaments the last 6 yrs that it's so watered down now. It used to be the top players, now it's anyone who pays to be on a team.
There are kids on some club volleyball teams that shouldn't be & they wouldn't last on a Bball court.
The number of girls playing high school basketball is a crisis no one is talking about.
Programs are drying up. Teams can barely fill their rosters.
We can't grow this game if we can't get kids to believe it's worth their time.
What are programs doing to fix this?
@SKMJohnson@beave2010@TeachHoopsBBall At the level this post is talking about, volleyball is absolutely easier...hell, even professionally its easier. Theres more skills needed in basketball to be successful
@SKMJohnson@TeachHoopsBBall I’m speaking of first hand. Never once said girls aren’t athletic, my main point is that you have to be more skilled to be successful in basketball. Volleyball overall is viewed more recreational… unless you’re going D1, which is only for top 2%.
@SKMJohnson@TeachHoopsBBall Sports in general, on why there’s 40 girls on a volleyball team that can only play 6 at a time vs only getting a dozen to play basketball to field a team of 5. Also, you have no idea the sports I’ve been in or my career lol 😂. So that’s just laughable. I’m witnessing the things
@TeachHoopsBBall It’s too long of a season for one… and it requires skill, in the day of anxiety, kids just rather do something else or not play rather than try to get better nowadays.
@SKMJohnson@TeachHoopsBBall Volleyball is easy, basketball you’re on more of an island and if you can’t dribble or aren’t skilled it’s very noticeable. Volleyball is like a cheer team social hour for most girls and you don’t have to be “that good” to play. It’s not “as noticeable” if you’re bad.
@TeachHoopsBBall Maybe girls are tired of playing a contact sport that isn't supposed to be a contact sport. Volleyball provides the same amount of athletism, training, commitment and absolute team environment without the physical aggression from opposing teams.
@SGuisgond@_letterbxmb Banks preying on kids right out of HS and giving variable rate loans… it’s fair to have to pay back, not fair when they are making a killing off interest. Oh and all those great banks had to get bailed out in the crash around 2010… but those student loans, they survive it all
@_letterbxmb The "You need to go to college and get a degree" pressure message has been used since the 1980's, it's not a new thing for your generation. There is no forcing anyone to do anything in this scenario, it was a choice. Instant success, delayed success, results vary, always does.
Just got an email from the US Department of Education that the SAVE plan is no longer valid and I must re-enroll in a different “affordable” plan within 90 days.
How the FUCK are people supposed to afford student loan payments when we’re entering an energy crisis??
@adamscochran It’s either going to to be over soon like he said and he’s just reiterating that all the left side X tweeting is a bunch of crap, or he’s lying and buying time and will lose a good chunk of his following if that continues.
I think, unless you’re MAGA, it is hard to interpret that speech as anything, other than an effort to get the American people on your side, before putting boots on the ground.
That was a sales pitch.
At prime time.
Saying “we need to do this”
There was nothing new, no other objective. Not even a full victory declaration.
And yet it’s his most formal address.
It is clear what is coming.
Wesley Bryan and I got into a heated argument about what the majority of people’s favorite club is.
I will stand firm and say it’s a 7 iron. There’s something about that club that’s very different than an 8 and 6.
Wesley said a driver or 60 degree is the majority favorite.
Who’s right here?
@MileHighMims I think their way of thinking is… when greenlaw was out for half the season, that the D held their own, so probably thought they could save some money and hope Drew sanders or a draft pick can come in.
I thought greenlaw had the hit stick and tackle for loss factor better but.
When you don’t brush, floss, or go to the dentist, you don’t get to blame the dentist for bad teeth.
When a student is consistently absent and barely does any of the work, don’t blame the school or teacher(s) when that student fails.
