Military aviation is packed with bizarre crossovers, but these two really caught my eye. A Czech MiG-23ML carrying a French R-550 AAM, and an Iranian F-5 armed with Russian R-60MK AAMs. Two aircraft from opposite sides of the Cold War flying with missiles nobody originally expected them to carry. It’s a fascinating look at how geopolitics and battlefield necessity can force totally unexpected engineering marriages.

@faisal_parla @thebadstats to estimate solar costs and payoff but even with high energy prices, it would take 20-25 years just to break even and by then your panel/ battery would be degraded

@faisal_parla @thebadstats Even with price hike, solar panels don’t make economic sense. The price hike due to DCs is a reality in some states so there is empirical evidence. But a full house load solar system w battery backup never made economic sense to me. Anyone can go to Google Project Sunroof

Whenever such people show up at your door, there are only two options. Either give them what they want. Or hang them so high that they would never want anything ever again.
