@BiblicalBeauty @petergoeman_ My friend Rosaria never pulls punches. I wish pastors would be as bold as she.

Rosaria Butterfield discussing with @petergoeman_ on his podcast, The Shepherd's Study, the importance of guarding the church against the errors of feminist ideology:
"What has happened is feminism has entered into the church and has said, 'You know, it's not fair that I can't use my gifts,' but that's not why God has called qualified men only to be elders and pastors in the church. It is not about gifts. It goes all the way back to the created order...
Ordaining women is the gateway to gay theology. There is no denomination that ordains women that will not eventually ordain homosexuals. And again, I'm not a prophet. I'm not a son of a prophet. I don't need to be. You just have to read your church history.
And the reason that it's the gateway is, it's the same hermeneutic, different Bible passages, but the same hermeneutic that is used to ordain women is used to ordain homosexuals."

I am 100% doing this when I take up the offering at my church this Sunday.
My Mixtapez@mymixtapez
Pastor told his congregation to bring copies of their tax returns so he can review them: "I’m gonna put a stop to some of y’all playing in my face during tithes and offerings"

@GayPersonabunch @what824678 Not all sin is equal: "Jesus answered him, 'You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.'" John 19:11
English

@what824678 @becketcook Well, let’s see murder is not forgiven. I’ll have to find that later. It’s in James.
Common sense tells me there are levels of sin and God has common sense however all is forgiven upon repentance. Except first-degree murder.

For years, living as a gay man, I had to endure things like attending exhibitions of lesbian portrait photographer, Catherine Opie, New Year’s Eve at Joe’s Pub in NYC w/ lesbian Sandra Bernhard straining to be funny, seedy gay bars in the East Village or Silver Lake, and awful, “envelope-pushing” off-Broadway plays. Praise God He saved me out of that wretched life.

@becketcook @becketcook Just stop being gay. Milo was able too and I'm sure you would hate to admit you're less of a man than Milo.
English

@H8PopPioneer @becketcook You wouldn’t watch a show with four ex gays forced to work together who hate each other in slightly different but mutually envious and vengeful ways?

I chat w/ @blake_bozarth about the explosion of Christianity in Iran. We look at what it was like before the Islamic Revolution, what happened immediately following, and to the situation today.

The most important things in my life are God, my family, and my church.
I’m happier and more fulfilled than I’ve ever been.
Not that many years ago, the most important thing in my life was success & money.
I was miserable. Drowning in anxiety. Living in sin.
So how did I fix it? I didn’t. Everything changed when I bent my knee to the Lordship of Jesus.
If you haven’t experienced this, you’ll read this and think I’m crazy. But I PROMISE you, if you know, you know…
English

@becketcook @BillyBaldwin I assume this means you are a Democrat. If so, how can anyone who follows Jesus vote for one when they are so, so in favor of abortion?! That alone is so incongruous with biblical values.

Great chat w/ author and theologian, Aaron Edwards, about his recent substack article, “The Feminist Gaze and the Wisdom of God,” and the growing controversy surrounding the Church of England’s stance on same-sex blessings, the “Living in Love and Faith” process, and shifting theology within Anglican leadership. @aaron_p_edwards

Thank you so much to all of you who prayed and who have checked in with me to ask how the scan went. Sad to say, it didn’t go as I hoped. They did find a small spot on my lung that they are telling me to assume is cancer because it likely is.
I will confess, spent a few days during the Christmas/New Year’s break feeling pretty down and tearful and had a tough time getting out of bed. But my God is still on his throne, and everything He ordains for me is for my good.
My oncologists have encouraged me not to panic, because if it is just the one, we will get it removed, and they are assuring me that all Stage Four is not the same and I can still reach long-term remission, so that’s what we’re praying for! And there is still a small chance that it is not cancer but something else, so that’s our top prayer!
Living the life of a Christian doesn’t mean you don’t have hard days or that news like this won’t cause you to spend a few days curled up like Elijah. And praise him for passages where he shows his great patience with our weakness. He assures us that he is close to us when we are brokenhearted and crushed in spirit (Ps 34).
But it does mean that you wrestle through it with the Lord. And you take these disappointments and fears to him, the great physician, knowing that he is ultimately the only one who can heal spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
And sometimes these are the ways he grows your strength because your spiritual disciplines become much more vital when you have to fight for them through doubt and fear.
The passage I’m particularly meditating on right now:
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
-2 Corinthians 4:16-18
So just wanted to give that update to those of you who asked and thank you for your prayers, I continue to covet them.
(also, if you think you are not a dog person, let me just tell you, get cancer and then have this thing with a big fuzzy head in your house that somehow always seems to know right when you need him to come lay it on your chest, and that will change your feelings. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.)

First post-treatment scan tomorrow afternoon, if I could ask for prayers that docs will still see no evidence of disease…
