@jfc3 @RanchoGordo I downgraded my bean cooking with my prior move. InstantPot < Slow Cooker unless your primary metric is time. On their website, they mention some Parsons oven method. I gonna order beans and give it a try. Again, thanks for the recommendation.

@beckylelliott @RanchoGordo I tend to soak them for a few hours, but with heirloom beans from @RanchoGordo you do not have to do that. Then cook them in a pot with salt, garlic, other spices, etc. I even add the spices in the soaking water. So they can soak them up while softening up.

I've reached this weird point in my life where instant coffee is fine, but canned chickpeas are not. Just a reminder that shortcuts can be such a personal, individual thing.

@beckylelliott If you’re into heirloom dry beans you need to look into @RanchoGordo beans. They are not cheap like store dried beans but much better by a long shot and well worth it. I haven’t tried the chickpeas, but all the others I have eaten are awesome.

We said goodbye to one of the best animals I have known. Tink believed she was as human as the rest of us and when she couldn’t walk anymore the demanded we carry her everywhere just like she would in her sassy tone. Best cat ever. Will be missed.
