@bee_tis look up asteria, very promising im excited for it. VRMMO's as a premise are very hard to make and do right plus the hardware gate way is tremendously outpricing the userbase. (idc if meta quest exists they suck ass and hold vr back imo) Imo hardware just isnt good enough-

with the ammount of vr mmo anime youd expect more vr mmo but both of them are shut down lmao so glad ones still run on community servers

mmos are hard enough for flatscreen so risking it in a market thatd require having to redo all the groundwork on top of doing the stuff thats normally hard with the groundwork being well established so we can only wait and hope things happen but we just have to wait and see when a decent sized studio decide to risk it and make the first proper one

@bee_tis 2) complicated than most give it credit for. So to make a VR MMO you basically have to do the same AND provide all the content. That's just a herculean task. It's tricky to think of how to get around that.

the only good one ive experienced is a game called "A township tale" but that one is only run by the community now cos it shut down and never had all the promised features it really is a shame because its one of the few vr games where vr is fully utilised but unfortunately its only an mmo in the sense of multiplayer focus with bearly any RPG features i feel if devs had more faith in vr as a medium a propper vr MMO RPG could be amazing but unfortinately Meta has a stranglehold on the big vr devs so those are locked to quest and its awful limitations and pcvr is too niche for most companies to risk a vr game because of the shareholders and those are just the things that make normal games few and far between for vr not even accounting for how risky MMOs are for studios to make because if they dont do well or have a big enough playerbase the server cost and development time just arent worth it so its really unfortinate how the odds are stacked against them for anyone who wants vr mmos we will have to wait and see what the future holds because im sure eventually there will be one that succeeds and takes advantage of vr fully

@bee_tis I'd really hoped that a good VR MMO would come by & throw out 70% of the awful design baggage the genre has accumulated, having to really rethink due to the medium. But they just made regular bare bones MMOs with waving your hands around. I'm sadly not surprised they flopped.🙁

Sometimes I feel bad wanting to reach out to my friends So many of them are bigger and more successful than me And I know I don't wanna use them for that I just worry they will and grow to dislike me just because I wanna yap with them I know how it hurts to feel used and I don't wanna make anyone feel that way

This also extends to wanting to make new friends I always worry I will just be a disappointment and annoying

I find the noise of fans whirring soothing I think this realisation definitely comes from my computer desk being my safe space and the constant light whirring of the fans has had a Pavlovian reaction with me
