New arrival, this poor girl is 299g but based on her shape she should be at least 500g. Here you can see her waist and I can feel all her bones....her eyes dull and sunken #hedgehog

Please don’t build bonfires in advance… they will attract 🦔🦔 A quick word about fireworks too… the loud bangs are very distressing for 🦔 and other wildlife, as well as domestic animals. Visit an organised display rather than letting them off in the garden.

🦔 Having updated my records over the weekend I realised that we passed a huge milestone on the 22nd August . ⭐️1,000⭐️ patients since the rescue started in 2014, (now at 1,015). Success rates fluctuate year on year but we have an overall recovery rate of 78% #hedgehogs 🦔

@helen_collis So many little ones out in the day at the moment, we’ve had calls at the FRU every day ☹️ so glad Billy is getting the care he needs 🦔🐾

Small babies just leaving their mums are out there struggling for food....please keep supporting even if you think they've stopped coming, you never know when a desperate little one will pass by....Billy was lucky to be found #hedgehog

Still closed ...yeah right 🙈If you ever see a #hedgehog doing this it's an EMERGENCY!🆘 ...please secure, put on a direct heat source, (heat pad, hot water bottle or similar), & call a rescue, a warm room or blanket will not be enough to reverse the hypothermia - she's critical

As the leaves change colour & fall from the trees - don't be so keen to tidy them! 🍂 🍃 They play an important role in the lifecycles of many species - from butterflies to #hedgehogs! 🦋🦔💤 If you must tidy gardens, leave a designated patch or corner untouched for #wildlife

Leaf it to me! 🍂 Malfoy one of our recently released hedgehogs has been busy gathering leaves to build a cozy nest. Hedgehogs use dry leaves, grass and garden debris to build nests — so don’t tidy up your garden too much, it could be their perfect home! 🦔🐾#LeafAMess

No rest for the wicked....this lady was found motionless with flies bothering her....I've managed to removed flystrike and give fluids with one arm 😅....Sue my foster has come to the rescue and I will guide her through treatment #hedgehog

Fracturing my humerus wasn't in the plan this week! (why do they call it that?! It wasn't funny!) needless to say I'm shut for a while! The hedgehogs will continue to be cared for by a small group of volunteers....I'll be back online when feeling a bit better #hedgehogs
