China has called on the Philippine government to “immediately cease maritime infringement and provocation” in the disputed West Philippine Sea (WPS), warning it would take “strong measures,” according to Chinese Embassy spokesperson Ji Lingpeng on Sunday. Beijing issued the statement in response to an earlier pronouncement by Manila’s National Maritime Council condemning what it described as aggressive and dangerous actions by the China Coast Guard, the People’s Liberation Army Navy, the Chinese Maritime Militia, and other Chinese maritime forces in the area. The Chinese Embassy, however, rejected the Philippines’ claims, saying they were “entirely fabricated” and intended to “smear China, confuse public perception, mislead public opinion, and deliberately tarnish China’s image.” It maintained that China’s actions are consistent with international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). @deanmelofficial Expect de Lima will elevate the matter to the SC, and argue that the CA decision violates the constitutional protection vs double jeopardy. The failure of the lower court to discuss the factual bases of the acquittal is not one of the recognized cases of grave abuse discretion.

In the reversal of the acquittal of De Lima, if it is true that the Court of Appeals said the lower court "failed to discuss the specific proven facts as well as the laws upon which his pronouncement of acquittal was based,” my question is this: how can the so-called "specific proven facts" be discussed KUNG WALA NGANG KASO? If there is no case, it means the alleged evidence showed NO FACTS to convict. If there are insufficient evidence, the acquittal does not mean a declaration of the innocence of the accused, it means that it merely CONFIRMS her constitutional presumption of evidence. The presumption has become fact. There are no other complicated laws involved. The constitution is the law upon which the acquittal is based. For me , if at all, this is an issue of ERROR IN JUDGMENT NOT GRAVE ABUSE OF DISCRETION. Basta "error in judgment" resulting in the acquittal of an accused, no matter how wrong the judgment could be, the case cannot be retried. That is double jeopardy, constitutionally prohibited!!

The Chinese government is notably skilled at denying and lying its illegal actions and aggressive maneuvers in the South China Sea. It's important to remember that China lacks any legitimate law enforcement activities in the Paracel Islands. This incident highlights three key points: first, it demonstrates that Vietnamese fishermen are fed up with China's bullying tactics and have decided to take a stand; second, it reveals that China is willing to attack even innocent civilian entities to follow directives from Beijing; and finally, it shows that Vietnam is no longer going to remain silent in exposing China's aggressive and brutal actions throughout the South China Sea. Countries in the region must unite to denounce and expose China's actions. Silence only condones China's behavior, allowing the China Coast Guard to continue their unlawful activities with impunity. We cannot passively accept China's bullying; it’s time to take a stand and raise our voices to the world! China's barbaric, aggressive, and unlawful actions not only threaten our respective Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) but also challenge the international rules-based order, putting it at risk!
