Resigning is not weakness, Mr. Wandayi. In serious public life, it is often the clearest sign of integrity. History is full of men who stepped aside when pressure and responsibility collided, only to return later with their dignity intact. David Cameron resigned as British prime minister after the Brexit vote in 2016 and later returned to government as Foreign Secretary in 2023. Kevin Rudd stepped down as Australia’s foreign minister in 2012 amid a leadership crisis, then returned as prime minister in 2013. Shinzo Abe resigned in 2007, came back in 2012 and went on to become Japan’s longest-serving prime minister. Resignation did not bury them. In different ways, it preserved their political names. That is why it is becoming harder and harder for Kenyans to understand your position. Almost everyone around and under this fuel scandal has already fallen or stepped aside. Petroleum PS Mohamed Liban, KPC MD Joe Sang and EPRA DG Daniel Kiptoo resigned after accusations of manipulating fuel stock data and irregular emergency procurement. The probe also reaches deeper into the petroleum chain. Yet you remain in office speaking like a commentator, not the political head of the docket. And that is the real problem for you.... if you knew, that is damning. If you did not know, that is also damning. Either way, it is now very difficult to convince anyone that responsibility can collapse everywhere beneath you and still stop short of your office. So resign, not because it proves guilt, but because it proves character. Resign because public trust matters more than personal comfort. Resign because investigations deserve room to breathe without the shadow of office hanging over them. And resign because history shows that a man who steps aside with dignity can still make a comeback, but a man who clings on while everybody around him falls only deepens suspicion. Resigning is not weakness, Mr. Wandayi. Sometimes it is the last remaining evidence that a leader still understands honor.

Comrade Fred @odhiamboojiro is already in Siaya County, Gem Ramula following on human rights violations that happened yesterday, where three people were shot dead by killer cops. Ojiro is reporting that hundreds of anti riot police officers have been deployed in Gem. On the 5th of February 2026, the High Court at Siaya issued Conservatory Orders stopping the operations, illegal eviction and any other meeting related to gold mining in Gem Ramula. The mining company illegally proceeded with illegal meetings in the month of March and using police to threaten and intimidate locals.

During yesterday's protest over the illegal gold mining, police officers torched his motorbike and burnt it to ashes.
