A candle close is not about time. It is about agreement. Yes, the clock is arbitrary. But once a timeframe is chosen, the close is the only price that survived until the end of that auction. Everything else was rejected. The high shows where buyers tried. The low shows where sellers tried. The close shows who won the round. That matters because markets are not physics, they are humans and algorithms reacting to shared reference points. And candle closes are one of the most widely shared reference points in existence. Institutions, algos, execution models, risk systems: They don’t trigger on vibes. They trigger on confirmed states. A close above a level says: “Price didn’t just poke it. It held it.” A wick above a level says: “Price got smacked back down.” That distinction matters when you manage risk, size positions, or decide whether continuation is statistically more likely than rejection.

Why is everyone so obsessed with "candle closes"? It’s literally just a clock ticking. Think about it. When the clock hits 1:00 PM, the price doesn't care. It just keeps moving. If you zoom in, that "close" is invisible. It’s just a random dot in the middle of the screen. But the Candle High & Low are very real. The High is a brick wall that the buyers couldn't break. The Low is a floor that the sellers couldn't smash. The time doesn't matter. The walls matter. Stop looking at the clock. Start looking at the High and Low. That is the only real truth on your chart. #StoicEdge 👑

@t0mbfx Currently made a strat with over 200+ backtested trades with a 65% Winrate targeting a 1.8RR. So a little less than 1:2RR

People say there’s no “best” risk-to-reward But there is, and it’s between 2-4R If it’s more than that - your losing streaks become a lot bigger which can really affect you emotionally If it’s less than that - you only need to slip up on a few trades which can hurt your win-rate and make you unprofitable 2-4R is the perfect middle-ground for trading imo

@tonytickss So, what criteria would you need to see which would define a A+ set up?

The Strat is focused on multi time frame analysis, so we shuffle through all timeframes because they matter, 15, hour, daily, weekly etc.. My timeframe of choice per execution is 5min only, I’ve done seconds timeframes, 1min, but nothing compares to the 5 in my opinion 💪🏻keeps me patient & hunting A+ setups only
