In my favorite panel at the Women in Sports Data symposium, each of the panelists described how she took an unusual path to sports. But after surveying the resumes of 200 current or former (W)NBA analytics staffers, I'm convinced there is really no such thing as the ~usual~ path.

The work Dave is doing here to attempt to quantify the *process* of shooting is fascinating. We still have so much to learn about one of the most fundamental skills in basketball.

Quantifying Shooting Mechanics: Learning is slow because of limits in technology, but that will steadily improve over time. I'm doing the best I can to quantify the things that are important to me as a shooting coach. Quantification is the first step to removing opinions.

@Dan1312_ To be clear, none of it would be used by Cleaning the Glass or teams. Happy to put something in the terms or anything like that asserting that nobody will have any rights to the code besides the authors. The point is to help people, not take advantage of them.

Who would be interested in a Cleaning the Glass coding challenge? The idea: we'd detail a small project, each submission would be shared with current/former NBA staffers and get some constructive feedback from them. No prizes, but a great way to learn and get noticed by a team.

@MccloudDeuce Ah yeah, this is a good question. I have to think more about what exactly the project will be, but you’re right that limiting it to simply coding might not be the best thing to do here. I’ll think more about it, thank you for bringing that up!

Little things for the Kings defense, just have to build their help early. Davis is the low man his job is to help on the roll. In early but he sinks with the drive which opens the roll for Ayton. Stick with me.
